Podcast focussing on butts/glutes that make us humans designed to run

Reminded by MissUnderstanding ’s photos of galloping horses (badge post) I thought I’d post this link to a podcast I listened to, whilst recovering in bed (still mainly 😒) from Covid, but dreaming of using just those butt muscles again on the next run!

It’s a great listen, covering the evolution of man as we became running, and also covering an exciting Arizona race of men and women against those animals with far bigger butt muscles: horses. Who will win?

I have spent three months thinking about my butt. My physio identified weak glutes as the primary cause of my IT band syndrome and I’ve done approximately four million squats, variations of squats, clamshells, glute bridges, deadlifts, variations of deadlifts etc etc etc to target my glutes (and lower leg strength in general). So even though you were thinking of my horses photo, the podcast content is particularly relevant to me too! 😂 😂😂

That podcast sounds brilliant. I’ll take it out with me on my next long run!
