After 3 min events (2 cancelled due to snow, 1 due to calf strain), I managed to complete my first event. It was better than I thought as I was with my running club and lots of us were nervous and excited.
The weather was kind as it had been windy and wet leading up to it but due to running country lanes the high hedges protected us from the wind and the rain stayed off π.
I ran all the way with a friend and we had a chat whilst running (no race pace for us π). There were lots of horses in the fields and some were running alongside us which was lovely.
A huge puddle covering the width of the track had all runners slowing down but a helpful Marshall showed us the shallowest part and we tramped through not getting splashed like those before us π .
Near the finish line I grabbed my friend and we ran over it together π. I absolutely loved every minute of it. (53:04 chip time - quite pleased with that as I havenβt been running long and I never thought Iβd take part in a race at my age).
No bling for this run (fuming π‘π€£).
So Iβve booked my next event - The Liverpool Spring 10k - canβt wait! (And it has a medal) π ππ»
