Off I trotted today for the first time in over a week since I had very tight calf muscles after my 10k. I got a flash new pair of sunglasses for Xmas that have my reading prescription in them so I was excited to try them. What a revelation being able to see all the numbers on my Garmin without having to fumble my glasses out of a pocket. Was fantastic!!

A brief resume of activity:

1. Alsation came along for a sniff and nearly scared the crap out of me;

2. Was overtaken by a young man doing a cheetah impersonation. He also overtook a cyclist....

3. Met Cheetah Man again on his way back. He had a PB face on. I think I enjoyed my run more....

Slow and steady 5k for me today. Happy New Year all!

That sounds like a very eventful run! Good for you, looks lovely.

But now you’ve got me thinking what my PB face might look like….. 😱

Well I'm sure it won't be pretty - I'm pretty sure mine would scare small children. 🀣🀣🀣

Ah prescription sunglasses, I cannot say enough how brilliant these are! Sounds as though you had a great run, and yes I bet you enjoyed yourself more than cheetah πŸ† man 🀣. I love the idea of a personal best face, I need to remember that one! A beautiful photo. πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Yes the glasses are amazing. My distance vision is actually better than 20/20 according to my optician, but my reading vision is hopeless. So its a varifocal solution!

Ooo new sunglasses and being able to read your stats as you go, i’ve been the opposite lately as rain has rendered my glasses useless so squinting i can sort of see lol Happy New Year coming up

Have you tried a cap to shield your eyes? I'm lucky dustance vision isn't a problem for me.

I keep forgetting my cap πŸ€ͺ my long vision is good but i have very double vision and prisms in my lenses which partially corrects that so it’s great running without them, if I look forward into the distance the path splits into 2 and gets wider apart the further away, it’s relaxing when a corner comes up and briefly corrects it

Just terrific πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ well done you. One run at a time πŸ™

That sounds like a nice 5k. Well done. I've been out several times having left my glasses at home because of the rain with no idea what those Garmin numbers are telling me 🀣🀣🀣🀣. I bet you are loving those varifocals πŸ‘

I never know if I’m running well enough for a personal best so my face appears in the kitchen when I get home, collapse in the chair and look at my stats. Then strava might tell me that even though I thought I was dying it was ok! I would guess it is red and rather surprised!

I got sunglasses with prescription (bifocal) inserts in summer. Definitely worth it.

Hahaha these cheetahs are all over the place. Yes it was a beautiful day up here yesterday. Today it is what we call "clagged in" - rain and heavy mist.
