As someone who watched from the sidelines when the rest of my family took to running 10ks, half and full marathons, I finally decided to try the couch to 5k program to chum along my daughter recovering from a knee injury.
Whilst I used to enjoy the gym I always told anyone who’d listen that I never run. I’d do any thing else exercise wise but just don’t ask me to run, ever!
Well did the couch to 5k last year and I just ran my first 10k! I am over the moon! I hour and 10 mins but since I started running age 60 I don’t think that’s too bad.
I have now signed up for my 1st official 10k in August.
It’s really true that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
Keep running, keep smiling! 🏃🏼♀️😄

Wowzers! This is awesome! Well done, you! I am starting week 3 after graduating and can manage 5k - 10k seems like WAY more than twice the distance. This is a terrific achievement!
Wow, I'm in awe, well done🎊🎉. I completed C25K a few weeks ago, but 10k just seems a big ask right now, especially asI've only just ticked off my first 5k. It just shows what can be done when you follow all the wonderful plans and advice here. Go celebrate 🍾 ✨️
The Marathon and Race support board is linked there too-they’re super friendly (and you’ll spot many of the same faces there!) and will wave pom poms for your event. When you’re ready, or if you decide to venture further than 10k, there’s great camaraderie there.
Enjoy that feeling of pride at what you did today though! ❤️💪🏃♀️🎉🏅
