Happy New year all runners, testers and awesome virtual friends.I've been planning today for days, as I sat with my lemsip tissues and misery.
Yesterday I didn't feel so ill so I dragged myself into work, didn't achieve much but did catch up on a few things and tidied my desk a bit, looked at my bosses dirty cup on her desk thought about washing it up for her then thought stuff it she can do it when she gets back Tuesday, I did empty her bin though as it was spilling over the floor.
So, planned this morning, should we drive to the river? I could run Willow could walk, should we drive to the beach? Should we go to the park? Nice paths but um kids on new bikes with new puppies, the world and his wife will be out there .... So decided to go a loop round here.
Dressed, music on, out the door, music stopped, back in, faff with earbuds and Spotify, music on, out the door, music stopped, oh well keep going,
Walk, brisk, big was of kitchen towel roll in my hand, mop my eyes, blow my nose, this cold is annoying and very wet, cough (are we allowed to cough in public now)
Ran, walked, ran, turned right, passed a few people with dogs, cheery good mornings and Happy New Year's returned
Turned right again, ran and walked, decision time, cut through the park and be home in 2 minutes or turn right and get a 3k loop, right turn won, and soon home
3k in 30 min 30 secs, and so happy I went.
Cup of tea ready and waiting, bath running
Wishing you all injury free running in 2023

A very happy new year to you! Well done for remembering tissues-that’s a rotten thing to be caught without!! Great run/walk. Bet those cobwebs were well and truly blown away. Enjoy that bath and cup of tea-what a treat to have them to come home to! ❤️ 🫖 🏃♀️
well done SueAppleRun …so glad you’re feeling better & made the decision to run where you did coz it sounds like you proper enjoyed it…happy new year to you and your family x
Happy new year to you both. Sometimes a run helps the sniffles especially a head cold. Well done . Had to do a 5 km treadmill run walk as raining outside. Not used to treadmills kept on stopping and starting should have asked how to setup. Better than nothing . Enjoy the rest of your day 🎉
And to you both, me ned the end of a chest cold, I haven't coughed like this since I stopped smoking but everyone around me has had it too, it's a miserable time of year so it's good to run/walk either inside or out, treadmills can be a bit strange
Oh Sola - it’s been a very difficult decision to make but I’ve decided to start C25K again - just too many niggles/injuries that won’t settle down. I’ve been mulling it over for the last few days and decided that I’d see after this morning’s 3k which while lovely to do, made me realise I need to go back to basics. It’s annoying because I feel pretty fit at the moment 🤣. But on the bright side I feel as though I’m doing something positive about it and very much hope to be running like a gazelle through the country lanes again come Spring! All the best.
Well done on getting out there especially after the ear phone failure x 2. Would've been so easy to have thrown in the towel at that point. Hopefully you are enjoying the fruits of your labour now. Happy 2023 to you WillowandSola!
Happy New year to you too, I gave up and ran without music, I seem to have changed something on my phone so as soon as I leave the house the music stops
You’ve done the right thing, top job! No other way! 👊👊👊👍
I went to bed late last night, previously that was the integral part of my lifestyle but now I can’t tolerate it easily. Woke up in a state, somehow downed some coffee and whatever else I found, put on my shiny basketball gear and ran 5k as fast as l could with Derek Trucks blasting in my earbuds. That’s what we do nowadays, easy or hard, we go out and run. 😉😀
Well done on getting out for a runSueAppleRun , you're very brave to do it with a runny nose! I hate it when both my nose runs and my legs are running and probably wouldn't volunteer for it.
And well done for leaving your boss's cup. For tidy people it can be so much easier to just sort it out than the alternative. Let us know if it's still there when you go back in
She's back a day before me so she'll have washed it, used it and left it again, my nose and eyes were very runny and I'm a bit chesty but I'm sure it did me good to be out today
Oh well done! And Happy New Year to you and Willow. That reminds me so much of my post covid runs, nose streaming, wads of tissues stuffed everywhere they could be, coughing and hacking as I went, wondering what other people were thinking as we passed.
Hope you're fully recovered soon and 2023 brings you many joyous runs
Happy New Year to you and yours too, it's the chesty cough that bothers me, 2 staff at work had COVID and the rest of us had a cold, we'd actually stopped regular testing awhile ago and it wasn't fun testing again, Let's hope this year brings lots of lovely runs for us all
A run is a good reason to feel happy 🙂 I've had a lazy day still not better but getting there, I wanted to go out this morning but my head and legs got into an argument and I stayed home instead
