Well as the heading suggests I haven’t been out running in this hot weather partly because of it and partly cos my heel has been sore and partly cos life ie grandchildren ( great to see them ) got in the way.
I was so looking forward to this run got up early and set off. However with in 10 minutes my heel started to hurt so I slowed right down. This helped a bit but after another 5 minutes of slow jogging it felt more painful so I decided to walk home slowly ☹️☹️ So disappointed. Just icing heel and wondering a) what’s the matter with it and b) is it time for a medic to look at it. Not sure how I’ll get that though as drs are like hens teeth round here 🤣

Oh how frustrating for you! You absolutely did the right thing by stopping. Hopefully that appointment will be easier to come by than you think.
I paid privately to see a physio. I had a diagnosis and exercise plan from one appointment, which would have put me straight on the road to recovery. I’ve really enjoyed working with him for further sessions but that first one would have been enough to know what was wrong and what to do. It might be worth considering.
So sorry you’re on the couch again. We’re all here to sympathise and chat while you’re recovering ❤️🩹
Thanks for the support and sympathy. I know others have much worse to contend with. It’s just frustrating. I’ve tried to find a local physio but they all seem to be sooo busy. I’ll have another look 👀
Don’t forget, we’re all runners here. Anything that stops us from running feels like a big deal-we’re all there with you when an injury strikes-big or small! Hopefully this will just turn out to be a little niggle, easy fix type injury. Fingers crossed for the physio/gp to be helpful! ❤️🤞
Oh no that's so frustrating. Heel injuries can take a long time to fix. Like MU said, it may be worth checking with a physio if you can find one that can fit you in. Good luck 🤗
My first port of call is usually my sports physio because I know from experience how good her practical diagnostic skills are. I go to the doctor (in fact sometimes the physio recommends this) if I have had an impact injury and think that I may have broken something; that opens up x rays etc. Once you know what you are dealing with, you will have a recovery plan and every day feels a step closer to getting back out there, and things start to look better. That works for me.
Arghh how frustrating. I'm no medic, but common heel pain problems are down to plantar fasciatus (not sure of spelling). A Google search should find info. Hope you can get back running soon
