Ive had a month or so of no motivation so I decided to take a month off. Ive kept on walking and doing my Pilates but just not run at all.
But with this last few days of lovely spring weather my mood has lifted considerably and today I thought New month- New me. I had a light breakfast and a coffee and let that settle while I made sure my headphones and phone were fully charged. Then because I have had my old hip niggle this last week and also had a new niggle underneath my right heel and mid foot, I had my son’s new massager ( for his plantar fasciaitis and back back) and gave my hip, calves and foot a quick going over.
And off I went. I wasn’t sure how much I was going to manage and how hot I was going to get, so I put a thin neon green jacket on over a light running tee and my “insects and teacups“ leggings and that was about right for 5 degrees. I didn’t push myself ... just put on good old Laura and week 9 ofC25k podcast for some inspiration ... and pootled along. And really enjoyed it. Nothing hurt... I didn’t go too fast and felt great when I got home again too.
So 30 minutes, 3.35k, a lovely sunny run and a few snaps along the way and I AM BACK!!!
hopefully this is it and I have regained my mojo!!

Hooray, go Lou! Have to say, I thought that was a picture of a fancy new drill and you were about to start some extreme gardening DIY, possibly while wearing those very snazzy leggings! Yes, it's well past time for my eyetest 👓
Have you looked into the recent research on hypermobility, especially Ehlers-Danloss Syndrome (EDS)? It runs down my mother's side of the family. My sister is particularly affected.
I must now maintain a certain level of activity otherwise I too will start to get joint pain. Also I should avoid any activities which would increase my flexibility, like yoga.
Yeah we’ve not got EDS, but I,like my daughter, quite often get sub locations. I’ve sneezed and put my back out....she got whiplash flicking her fringe out of her eyes..... annoyingly we both have some really loose joints. Both of us have left hip which pops out of socket... she has both shoulders and elbows go out of joint, yet we have other joints which are stuck.
My son suffers badly with plantar fasciitis, elbow, shoulder and knee issues and is currently undergoing tests for rheumatoid arthritis due to continuous back pain.
My younger sister has loose joints too. We spent most of our youth with sprained ankles 😒
