I set out for a slow run this morning to see how I do, after just 2.5km done in the last month.
I feel so lucky. I had been saving my holidays in case I got ill, so I could use them on bad days rather than go in to work, and give myself a break, but still have a pay packet at the end of the month.
I've been so well these last few months I got to the end of the year with loads of hols to take. In Dec. Hmm. So on the spur of the moment I decided...Australia!
As I am solar powered this has to be an opportunity to get back to the running. I find it hard in the UK in the dark and cold in Dec.
So first run completed. Sunrise was at 04:30 which I saw because my body clock isn't adjusted. I was out by 05:00 and slowly running round a little park in Brisbane. Really happy to have done 5km. Got back, drank water, stretched, did 12 squats, all while reading this forum coz I find stretching boring. I'll find out tomorrow how my troublesome ankle/foot responds. Plantar is no longer painful but top of foot and ankle are not 100%. If it's the disease then running should help. If it's a sprain it is time it was healed up. Nothing too painful during the run, just a niggle.
Here's hoping! Aiming for 3 runs a week, in between lots of visiting folks. Let's see..
Cello left behind in the U.K. Wouldn't fit in my back pack.

Wow!!! Have a lovely time! Glad you have had a 5 km run. Not sure whether Australia is somewhere you visit much, but probably you have masses of places to explore. Hope you highest exceptions are exceeded! 😊☀️
Why hello Baddie, you’re so far away! 👏👏 How wonderful for you. I hope you’re able to find some lovely warm places to run and explore! You won’t need your cello that’s for sure. 🎻
We look forward to hearing your adventures! How long are you there for? My ‘adventure’ today is 4k in the cold. It’s currently 3 degrees. 😫 I could go to the gym and roast on the treadmill instead - I think you’re in the right place! 😀 Have a blast! 🇦🇺 ❤️🏃♀️
Awesome that you are back!!! That's certainly an unconventional solution to running in the cold damp dark UK mornings, and I love it!!! *contemplates booking ticket*
Oh well done Baddie, I am a tad envious as my son has just gone over to Canberra for a months holiday, so will be enjoying the warm weather, catching up with friends etc., (despite the recent storms)
Oh wow Baddie, what a wonderful thing to do! It’s freezing here! Parkrun tomorrow is due to be 3 degrees in driving rain, so I may have to chicken out for the first time 😫 You’re definitely doing the right thing!
Hope you have a lovely warm time and get recovered 🤗 x
I'm hoping to do a Park Run in the morning, but it is throwing it down here. They need the rain, the grass is yellow straw it's been so dry, but does it have to rain on Park Run morning!?
