Taking advantage of no work this week, I was up and out for my 5K run just after 7am today - down through the local recreation grounds and over to some lovely fields where I have not run for ages. The stand out part of this route is a hill on one side of the field (which I ran twice, just for good measure!) Slow and steady but definitely doableπ₯΅π - I need to be including this in my runs more regularly and also plan to use it for a few hill reps too, I think.π€πͺ
Hope everyone has a good run today and that anyone on the injury couch is back out there soon.π

Im sure it was you who said to me recently, ' hills are your friends' and I repeated that several times whilst we were doing the 3peaks challenge, particularly when a couple of the others kept muttering ' whose idea was this, I hate hills!!' I kept shouting ' HILLS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!!!' I got swore at several times!!πππ
i have started incorporating hills into some of my runs(well roads that go upwards and then down the other side, not necessarily a steep hill!) they are tough, but i have found they have improved my pace alot on the flat, before i graduated C25K i wouldn't of ever dreamed i could run up a hill and sometimes i do it either at the beginning of or nearer to the end of a 4k or 5k run.ππ₯΅
Well done Sandra, I do enjoy a bit of hill training every now and then but slopes are not easily accessible to us, We can run them next to Southsea Castle , or over the footbridge crossing a main road at the north of the City. π
I did a hilly run this morning as I definitely need to practice them. Got a steep (for Southampton) road not too far from me. Epic fail - I had to walk the last few metres. Then had to stop to get my breath when I reached the top π€£. Took a couple of pics though
