Yep, another warm run after work today but I surprised myself with a pretty decent pace all the same.π
I have recently been getting back in to a better routine with my running again and am definitely feeling the benefits.π Unfortunately, I just donβt have time to run before work during the week, when I know it would be cooler (Iβm a bit of a night owl π¦and donβt get enough sleep as it is!!π₯±)
However, despite the humidity, I felt strong on this run (just a 5K), coming in at almost exactly 30 minutes, so pleased with that.
Now I need to decide when to run at the weekend to best avoid the heatβοΈ, as I would like that to be a 10K really. At least I will be able to get out earlier without having to rush on to work afterwards ππ, assuming that is, I can get out of bed!ππ΄π¬
Happy running everyone.π

Wel done , great to get a 30min 5K in given the heat !
I am someone who runs after work too, on the hottest part of the day (3:45 pm). I am not a night owl, but I already go to bed at 10 pm to get up at 6 am to get ready for work. I just don't see myself going to bed at 9 pm to get up at 5 am, it just isn't in me. And running after the sun has gone down isn't in me either, too scared for the bad people, haha. So I am kinda obligated to run after work in the heat of the day.
I am wondering about the weekend too. I am not yet at 10K, but I would like to do a long run (eg. 60 minutes) in the weekend. But weekend = sleeping in until 8 am. I can't run a long run without breakfast either, but I also have to wait 2 hours after a meal to run, otherwise I get sick during my run. So earliest I can go run in the weekend is 10 am, bringing me to running still at 11 am when doing a long run and thus crawling in the heat again.
Glad to hear that you are getting into a routine again. I really do not like running in the heat and have to avoid it anyway because of Squiggy. Also usually feel too tired after school. During the half term holiday I was off out around 6.30-7 and even then some days it was very warm! This weekend is going to be very hot apparently!
Yep, not looking forward to Sundays βlongβ run!π₯΅
I am a TA/ Pastoral support so donβt work the long hours of a teacher! I would say though, that even when I feel shattered on returning home, I think itβs more of a mental tiredness and getting out for a run revives meβ¦usually!π
Well done Sandra, (did the weightlifting guinea pig drop the barbell on himself?) good time in the heat, me and Sue were out at 8.15 this morning, (lucky for us we are now both retired) to miss some of the heat of the day and bonus of it being overcast, but, typically 5 mins down the road and what happens? the Sun comes out! ππbut still good at 15 deg and a 5k not as fast as your time though, but enjoyable for us.. with a couple of laps around the park.. Keep at it! π
π Yes, the weight-lifting Guinea-pig is no more!!!π I think I will head to the shady trails of our local bridleways this weekendβ¦and go slow! π
