What running reminds me...πŸ™‚πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I haven’t posted for a while and if I’m honest, I have struggled with my running mojo just recently. My anxiety (one of the reasons I run) has reared its ugly head a little lately and there have been days when I should have run but took the easy option....and didn’t! πŸ˜” So today, a week after my last run 😬, I gave myself a bit of a talking to and laced up my running shoes...and am so glad I did! Just out for a steady 6.5K but enough to remind me that running should never be the thing I miss when times are tough. I returned home after a great run, feeling so energised and immediately signed up for the Virtual Vitality 10000 to keep me motivated over the half term break (I work in a school, which I love❀️ but I’m ready for my break!)

Here’s to remembering...why we run!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‚

Well done getting out. Hold onto that feeling, better still, write it on a post it and put it somewhere prominent to remind you even when feeling yuck, running helps. Have a great mid term. Happy running πŸ€—

Well done for getting out there Sandra πŸ‘πŸ˜Š Sounds like you definitely need the half term break (we love the job and the kids but it is exhausting!). I must admit that the gremlins got the better of me this morning and I ended up at the computer doing planning, instead of going for a run πŸ˜•

Hi Sandraj39 I’m so glad you managed to get out there and enjoyed your run!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘I haven’t run for a couple of weeks now due to injury and really miss it 😒 Happily I’m on the mend though and going to Derbyshire on holiday today so I’m hoping to get some walking (and maybe even running🀞) in while I’m there! It could be just the thing I need to get me out there againπŸ˜ƒ

Well done Sandraj39 As a fellow anxiety sufferer I know exactly how you feel!

It may have won that day but you showed it with your next run! An excellent 6.5K! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸ»

It’s great that your mojo gave you a talking too and you went out. Hopefully your half term will reenergise you. Anxiety is hideous so feel your pain there. πŸ€—

Nice to have you back Sandraj39 πŸ™‚Your run and post are both important steps in the right direction. Running is a major comfort zone for me; which is why I become a pain in the ass when I have a niggle( chorus of agreement in the background! ). At least we have lots of daylight at this time of year so it is easier to shoehorn a run into a busy schedule ( although I love a night time run in the woods too). Looking forward to your next outing!!πŸ‘

Oh my goodness, well done on getting out there, it's a real irony that the thing that will make you feel better can be so hard to do sometimes!Oh and I used to teach, and YY to needing the half term break! I remember that feeling so well. Good luck with the Vitality πŸ€πŸ’ͺ

I’m glad you got those running shoes on Sandra and have booked the virtual vitality to give you an incentive. To be honest I think the return to β€˜normality’ is causing a lot of stress after us being restricted for so long.

Good for you getting out there. I always maintain, it's ok to "miss" the runs we legitimately weren't able to do, e.g. through injury/illness or there just not being enough hours in the day sometimes, but we should never deliberately miss runs that we could do.

Running is pretty much my equivalent of "mindfulness" (depression rather than anxiety) so I completely get where you are coming from.

Aw, well done Sandraj39 ...it’s so easy to take the easy option and stay home...but running should never be far away for this exact reason...we all know that running can take us to our happy place...sometimes the run might involve tears, sometimes it might involve memories, sometimes it might involve smiles...whatever it involves it’s the best thing we can do, even though we don’t feel like it every time, but somehow always feel better for going...those mojos can easily slip through our fingers, I find that mine sometimes lurks on here, hiding in peoples posts and that’s why I come for a read...and it’s posts like this that have my mojo back where it belongs...and I’m glad yours is back too, you need to lock it up so it doesn’t escape again!!! Your post probably has hidden mojos all over it today that have been returned to their rightful owners πŸ˜‰ xxx

I can so associate with missing runs for reasons like this and am so glad you have reminded yourself why you run ❀️ I am gradually learning the same, and that 'being kind to myself' by missing a run if I don't quite feel like it is often just the opposite, and just leaves me feeling worse. Hopefully we'll both remind ourselves to go out for a run - whatever! 😊🌷

Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling Sandra, it’s still an unreal world out there and so many uncertainties. We’re living though strange times so it’s little wonder our emotions are sometimes all over the place ☹️

Good for you for signing up for the event, I hope there’s bling involved somewhere! I’m sure your much loved trails will do you wonders…. If they’re not too waterlogged atm!

Take care and enjoy your break xxx
