A post trip run

I don’t find it easy to get off a train after being away for a few days and get out and run. I do find it easy to make excuses and put it off!

This time I pulled on my shorts and top and got out and started running, just to see what I could manage.

It went alright and the sunshine and lovely trees and flowers in the park really helped too. So, another one under my belt and I’ve no more trips for a while, so hopefully I’ll get into a decent routine.

The garlic is in flower now and looked so lovely!

That looks beautiful! I don't know what's happened lately, but lots of us seem to be having trouble getting into a routine, myself included. Good weather does help, so fingers crossed that summer's on it's way

I do love this time of year when the wild garlic is in flower - and it smells amazing too! Let’s hope for some sunny weather (or at least no rain and maybe some blue sky) to help us get out.

The garlic may be in flower but it's totally swamped my garden, now the flowers are fading I keep meaning to get out there and start clearing it. Glad you got out for a run and it sounds just what you needed

Hope you get the garlic in your garden under control!

What a beautiful pic and I do agree with Archerygoddess that sometimes it takes a monumental effort to get back out there. As an old-lady-64 myself as of last week I can’t believe that this time last year I was training or tapering for Birmingham half- marathon and this year even a park run has become a big deal. How do you get your motivation back?

Yes it is difficult to stay motivated. What helps me is I read the posts of others on Health Unlocked and I find that really builds my motivation. I also try to focus on ‘just go out and do what you can do, it’s all a win’.

yes you’re so right - very sound advice. We should be grateful that we’re still physically able to get out there! Happy running x

I can almost smell that wild garlic through the screen Oldlady. Lovely isn’t it? 😋

Sounds like you had a great run and I bet you’re pleased you made the effort. Nice. 😀
