This is unheard of for me but sometimes, just sometimes a 'naked' run is what we need!
I was a bit under the weather over the BH weekend and although I went out for a run on Monday morning, it was one of 'those' rubbish runs! I returned home a bit deflated and struggled to take my own advise, that it was still miles in the legs and to just move on to the next one! Today, after work I decided to ditch the Garmin and the music and just go with the flow. One of the reasons for no music (I love listening to music when I run) is that I have a run at the weekend where headphones are not allowed. 😧 Despite my initial fear that I was ditching my long term comfort blanket, I was surprised to find I didn't miss them at all! I think I spend so much time in my head, processing the day when I run, that sometimes the music is a bit incidental. And leaving my Garmin at home was fine too (just this once, anyway😉). Ran a favourite 6.5k loop and returned home with confidence restored and although I know I will return to my music playlists, I will definately try to mix in a few more runs like this from time to time, too.🙂
