Hey Everyone

I'm new to the forum, but I've been on a few others since October.

I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Valentina I'm 24, last May 2022 after never running before in my life I started running I took up couch to 5k I fell in love with running and started parkruns I even signed myself up for a 10k for September 23 then in October I had a heart attack while running I'm a teacher and I was at work on a free period I went out and collapsed I don't remember too much after that.

I was recovering well and volunteered at my local parkrun. I even had walk/run a parkrun but in March 2023 I had a cardiac arrest and developed pneumonia.

Today for the first time in about a month I was back volunteering at my local parkrun. I'm looking forward to walking it again soon and I'm determined to run a 5k again and hopefully that 10k

oh my goodness, you have been through it, but you sound like one determined lady. Every Saturday damienair puts up a post on here so that everyone can report on their parkrun exploits, whether running, walking or volunteering. So do join in.

Welcome Valentina, gosh you’ve had a rough ride haven’t you? But you sound really positive and it would be lovely to think you could resume your walking/running with no ill effects. Stay well, and enjoy. ❤️

Welcome! That's one heck of an introduction to running!

Great to see you're volunteering again. Do you have any access to cardiac rehab to help with your recovery?

I've got my appointment for May. I went to cardiac rehab last time and it helped a bit but with this time being more serious I'm looking forward to getting back
