Hi fellow runners. I've already posted this question on C25K, but maybe someone on B210K might be able to help.
I use Nike Run Club on a Samsung Galaxy S9. I have AfterShokz Aeropex bone conduction headphones. I can connect the headphones by bluetooth to the phone no problem. I can listen to podcasts such as the audiofuel ones on the Samsung audioplayer and I can stop and start the audioplayer using the controls on the headphones. This is great, as I like to carry my phone behind me in a Flipbelt. So far so good.
My problem is that although I can listen to the NRC app on the headphones, the headphone controls will not remotely start and stop the NRC app, I have to get the phone out of the Flipbelt, activate the phone, and use the screen controls. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, have you found a solution that you could share?
I'm guessing it's a no, as so far I've found nothing searching google, and the C25K group has members with the same issue, and no solution discovered. But you never know if you don't ask.
In any case, thank you for reading this far, and happy running to you all !!

I'm using a different set-up, but my running app needs me to start it from my phone. I just wear my running belt in front and stuff my phone in once I've started the run on the app. Not the best, but I can't think of a better way. Just don't drop your phone!
I’ve got a similar setup but never even tried starting and stopping NRC as the headphones will more likely start and stop music with its controls.
I’ve got NRC set up that it automatically stops when I stop running.
Otherwise I don’t need to stop NRC.
What are the scenarios where you need to stop NRC? ( I also don’t stop NRC when it says stretch now, as I think it’s not needed. I do a warmup walk, which takes care of that)
Yes, I do the warm up walk, then set the app running. I was hoping to set the app running remotely from the headphones. It's not a big problem, just needs a change of habit, as I am used to preparing everything before leaving the house, then starting the podcast at the end of the warm up. Just means getting the phone back out and getting the app going on the phone before running now, oh, and remembering then to start garmin watch, which I now sometimes forget, with the business with the phone. Just not us simple as it was with just the podacast. It's a shame that the coached runs can't be downloaded as an MP3.
I get my watch ready to go (i.e. gps locked), start the NRC run then start my watch. That way, I usually remember to start both and they're pretty much in synch. Being in synch makes it easier to predict the end of an internal by looking at my watch.
The advantage of it being an app (rather than a podcast) is that you can use your favorite music player at the same time. Also, some of the guided runs are distance based which wouldn't with with an MP3.
