Easy run

Day off today, for some reason every day off is more enjoyable lately. I wonder why? Maybe because soon every day off wil be every day or maybe because the sun is shining and the evenings are a bit lighter, or even just because I feel like me again. We'd already decided to go to our original park but run round all the lovely new paths that used to be the golf course.

For me NRC Easy run 25 minutes, for Willow a walk. So in jeans, jumper and jacket he looked at me in leggings and a thin long sleeved top and tried to persuade me to put another layer on. I win that argument and out we went.

It was lovely out, we walked down the hill, through the gap in the fence, coach B in my ears and Paul Simon in the background. I glanced at my watch and was careful not to run too fast. The first kilometre I kept a steady 9mpk. And clicked over to the next one at 9.1mpk, and felt quite chuffed, on I ran, grinning, with the sun on my face and warmed right through, round the lake, turn and back 20 minutes run, my legs were tiring so I slowed and dropped to a walk, Coach B said run done. Garmin says 2.8k in 26 minutes, I'm happy with that. Back to the car, Willow walked just under 2k and his average pace was 10.15mpk. We both remember during C25K saying wouldn't it be good to see an average of ten something and that was running.

So, we both had a great time, I learned that I can run without walking but it's my legs that stop me running longer at the moment, I'm building back up nicely and will keep to easy runs until I'm back to running a whole 5 k without going too fast and needing walk breaks.

Tomorrow, back to work so a walk afterwards.

I didn't stop for photos today so here another from Mondays walk.

Run happy or rest well.

It's been a tough winter, only the last couple weeks I've had energy to get out and run

Great run and you’re enjoying it. It’s the retirement and a big weight lifted off your shoulder. You and willow will can run/ walk anytime anywhere shortly . 😊

A lovely sunny slowish run, perfect. I went for a walk this afternoon and realised it was still daylight at 5pm, talk about reasons to be cheerful!

You'll be retired just in time for summer, perfect :)

A brilliant run and walk for you both!

…and it’s funny how you don’t realise how bad things were until you’re out the other side…🥰

Nice run for you Sola and a nice reasonably quick walk for Willow, as for daylight, we now have more than one hour of light in the late afternoon than in December and by the weekend it's a hour more daylight in the morning, great for running or walking.
