It was a lovely morning and my son had promised to run with me before I drive him back from West London to Portsmouth. We left at first light and he set the pace - slowly. He's six foot, 30 years old and runs much faster than me. I encouraged him to take it slow and we kept together throughout the run. I don't like running with people but I like running with him.
It was nice to move after a couple of days being pretty sedentary, apart from all the cooking!
Now for some me time after Christmas!

That sounds lovely. So pleased that it worked out to run with your son.
I too find it difficult to run with someone but I recently met a woman at the local park run who runs about at my pace so we are planning to do some runs together, to help each other in January 👍.
Well done to you and especially your son on running a steady 5K at your pace, some faster runners would be tempted to run off and see you at the end of the 5K but your son ran at his mother's pace, you should be very proud of him.
That sounds like a wonderful run you had with your son. Well done!I agree about it being nice to move after a few says of inactivity and, in my case, overindulgence. A overarching feeling of sluggishness was my reward for that on my run today. But at least it was a run
The last time I ran with my husband he was raving about how nice it was to run so slowly. 😡 The perils of having a naturally faster run buddy! Sounds like you still had a lovely time together. Enjoy your well earned me time!
