A Steady 5K and Mr Garmin is happy ! πŸ˜πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I had a window of opportunity this morning before work .

I have been cutting down on my weekend work and have finally got it down to one 1.5 hour lesson on a Saturday afternoon.

The weather was fine this morning and I was out just after 8 with the intention of doing 5K

The horse in the picture is right at the start of my run and I usually go and say hello 😁

It was 4 degrees this morning with a stiff breeze.

I had tights , T-Shirt and zipped thermo top (love the new bright running top 😁)

Set off feeling fine on my usual route , the chair by the field gate in the picture always makes me smile , I resisted the temptation and kept running 😁

no NRC this morning as recently I have noticed my music not reducing volume when the coach comes in ! Very frustrating! So just went with my playlist .

I actually found this more enjoyable!

The run is going well and at just over 2K there is a bench !

Again, temptation resisted 😁

At around 2.5K there is a 'Pinfold' (see pic) where stray animals were retained and then released back to their owners on payment of a fine 😁

3K in and feeling good, a bit more like my pre illness self !

I have no idea what my pace is on this run and I don't care , it feels good and I'm enjoying it and that really is all that matters (to me anyway)

At 4K I considered running on to 6 but decided no !

I will keep my steady progresion back to my former self .

5K done and feeling good !

Happy that it was a very comfortable 5K

And even Mr Garmin rewards me again with another year off .

My fitness is probably still short of where it was before I was unwell but again, that's fine .

There really is no rush .

Back home and Misty is waiting for her 2nd breakfast !!! 🐷

The chickens are squawking away wanting a treat

Ive not even had my first yet 😐

Ahh well, stretches done, animals fed , porridge made and eaten .

And a relaxing bath 😁

Happy running!

Hey nice post! I started running again, I had break from running from September till around now because I have rheumatoid arthritis and I had a massive flare up of that so I was in a lot of pain from my feet, knees, hips, hands! Nightmare! But it’s more under control now so I started over, to surprise in progress pretty quick, I tried 10 mins run on NRC last week and I couldn’t finish, I did few intervals since and yesterday I ran consistent 12 mins. I know it must sound like a joke to a lot but yo me considering it took me like 2 months last year to run consistent 12mins and this time it took me a week, so I’m pretty excited and so grateful I can move! Running is so awesome I missed it everyday! It trains our cardiovascular sysptrm and it teaches us about being active and also about life

Well done you ! πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹It's certainly not a joke !

It's the sensible way to get back into it, slowly rebuilding your strength and stamina , and also your resistance to injury !

There is absolutely nothing good to be gained long term in rushin any form of recovery!

I see so many flogging themselves to death after illness. . ... And for what !

They become frustrated and disalousioned and risk a trip right back onto the IC.

Carry on with your sensible recovery, you will get there πŸ‘

Great run Instructor57 and sounds like you getting back to your normal running self after being poorly. Love that the horse greets you at the start πŸ˜€

Good news! So glad that was a comfortable run for you. I agree it's a good idea not to push it yet, but good to get that one under your belt. Take care.

I love the chair positioning and have been known to pick up abandoned chairs on a homeward run and deposit them in our garden.... with flowers growing through them!

Ah what a great run and post. I chuckled because like you, I see so many seating possibilities when I run, it’s as though someone put them out on purpose just to test our willpower! That chair at the gate is very random 🀣. Kudos to Mr Garmin, and Misty looks very happy. 😊😊😊

Thanks Kate !There were several more seating possibilities en route but I declined them all , but yes, that chair is very random 🀣

Sounds like you had a good run and that you are slowly getting back fully into the game!

Cute Misty 😻
