A steady morning 5k and a Chinese Gremlin 小鬼 !

Actually, Chinese Gremlins ! 小鬼

I woke up at 6am and went to make some tea, I decided to take it back to bed .

I started to chat to a Chinese friend in Shenzhen (on WeChat) they are 7 hours ahead !

I said I was going to go for a run and she said it's early there you can sleep more , it's weekend!

It certainly got me thinking, I was very tempted 😁

I drank my tea and we chatted for a while and I decided NO ! I won't sleep again ! and I got up around 7:15

I couldn't decide what to wear and eventually settled on the tights a long sleeve top with a very light Hi Vis jacket .

Dynamics done and

I was out of the door around 07:50

I decided to go with the NRC 40 Minute run as I knew this would be around 5k for me , actually, the NRC 5k is ever so slightly less than Garmin's which I will finish by .

There was a slight misty drizzle in the air on my warm up walk which actually disappeared as I started the run .

It felt comfortable as I set off with a nice slow easy pace to settle in .

The tights felt ok but I could have easily gone in shorts as I started to warm up around 1k

Slightly downhill now through the village and let the pace pick up a little on the 2nd K

Around the corner and up the hill towards the church , still feeling good but no idea what my pace is as I'm not watching the watch .

At 3.5k I knew 5 would be comfortable as still feeling good .

Running towards the rising sun now where I took the picture , it was actually difficult to see where I was going at times.

NRC Run finished but Garmin was quite a few seconds behind so went with that .

5K done , back home and stretches done tea made and porridge eaten 😁

Misty the cat is still sleeping in exactly the same position as when I went out ! 😁

A great 5k there! Those gremlins are definitely global, and have no respect for borders or time differences, so well done 😁. Misty obviously had bigger issues to contend with 🤣. Bet you’re set up nicely for the day now Ian 🏃‍♂️😊.

Well done! That is another 5K in the feet.

As for the Chinese gremlins, once the hour changes in a week, they will be one more hour behind. My direct colleagues (also Belgian people) work in Hong Kong and it is a bit annoying to have them leave work 1 hour sooner.

Misty is cute, as always of course. Still have to meet the first cat that is not cute!

Thanks Evy , And yes I'm looking forward to the clock change so I can get out a little earlier for a while !

I shouldn't complain about my friend she had a lie in untill 10:30 this morning but she was working untill 8pm yesterday , she is a new Doctor and works crazy long days sometimes !

Oh I love Hong Kong !

Been there twice and would love to go back !

As for Misty , yes she is adorable ❤️

Yes it’s always great to wake naturally, and I done loads this morning, going soon and not back til tomorrow afternoon when there might be some running and roast lol

A super 5k 😊. I found I warmed up a lot during my run too this morning and peeled my top layer off half way round. Lovely sunrise 🌅
