It has been a while again since my last run for several reasons which I will not go into here but today everything was in synch once again and the weather was too good to miss.
It was bright, dry and 4 degrees when I went out at just before 8:30.
I decided not to use an NRC run and also not to watch my watch !
I set off with Pink Floyd's ' Meddle' on my playlist and appropriately, 'Breathe' was the first track ! Always a good idea as you start to run ! π
So once I set off I didn't look at my watch at all .
I set my pace simply by my breathing and kept the entire run at a conversational pace.
It actually felt so much more relaxed without looking at splits .
I was simply running by feel , enjoying the music and enjoying the weather and surroundings.
The crazy thing is when I got to what I know is 5K and looked at my watch I was surprised to see it was a very similar time to my previous recent 5K's but without the pressure!
There's a lesson there surely!
Back home , stretches done and porridge eaten !
And Misty my cat looking at me as though to say , Where have you been ! ? π
Now for a relaxing bath before a 1.5 hour driving lesson after lunch !
Happy running !

Nice run for you today Instructor57, glad you enjoyed it without any pressure, I like your πΆ music choice of Pink Floyd, great music to have a great relaxing run, as for me, I didn't go to parkrun today instead I ran a short 3K after running my 89th (not) parkrun on Wednesday.
Do tell: is Larry always served breakfast first? And before anyone does anything else? This includes going for a run. And does Misty tweet her deep concerns with the drop in service quality?ππ
Larry the cat is by far the most important occupier of No. 10 Downing Street, far more important than any human who lives there, I am sure the first thing anyone does is to give Larry his breakfast.
Great you got out there Ian π. Thereβs something really liberating about not looking at Mr. Garmin - I try not to but heβs sneaky. Itβs been perfect running weather the past few days, long may it last! πππ
Excellent! Itβs a beautiful sunny day here in Dumfries and youβve really got me excited about going out and doing the same thing. Putting some music on (good choice by the way) and just taking in the surroundings! Well done on your run that sounds like an exceptionally good one!
Great post! I read it and it helped me get out the door and run today, so thanks! I havenβt managed to get out for 5 days and had been putting it off. Today I went out and focused on the scenery and the beautiful spring weather and not on the time. It worked well π
Maybe Misty was wondering why you exhaust yourself when ending up at the same spot as where you began, haha. Sounds like you had a good, relaxing run. One of those runs to remember and take lessons from when having a hard run!
Congratulations Instructor57! I know the feeling of not being out for a while. π Itβs been too long a while for me, but I had my first comeback run yesterday. Well done to you!! ππ½ππ½ππ½β€οΈ
Trying!! Never one to give up!! I really enjoyed my run yesterday. Back out in the woods with the sun shining!! Slowβ¦πβ¦but Bliss! Happy to start from where I am. Non-stop, so I was very happy with that indeed. There is still life in the old girls legs! Just needed a reminder! π€£π€£β€οΈ
