Not only did I do it, I did it a week early!

It was my 3rd run of week 7 on Ju Ju's magic plan and I prepared mentally to get my 2nd 9k under my belt. Last weeks was harrrrd on the legs and I can't say I was looking foward to it. But the rain stopped and the sun had come out so I thought this must be a good sign.

Anyway.... late on in my run I looked at my watch to see I'd just hit 8.5k and I made a snap decision to take a little detour and see if I could get to the hallowed 10k this week. My legs were feeling much better then last week at that point so I just kept going. Low and behold I made it!

67mins and 10k complete! Wow. I'm so chuffed with myself. This is something that seemed impossible just a couple of years ago before I'd ever took a step in my now well used running shoes.

Thanks to everyone on HealthUnlocked for all the support and encouragement along the way. 😊

Thank you. Congrats to you too.

The firswprk was amazing actually. How do they make them better an better every year?

No further plans yet. Am happy with this achievement for a while I think. I don't think longer distances are for me at this point in my busy life. πŸ˜…

great to know what you don’t want to do

I’m happy to stick around this distance too - got a 10k booked for April so my goal is to increase by another 2 or 3k over the next few months so that I’ve got the distance easily in my legs. Which I hope means that 10k feels more achievable

I think that's a great way of preparing for your race! That approach worked well for me.
