I just started immunosuppressants (TNF-α blockers) and I was wondering if anyone of you here is on similar medication and how that might (or might not) interfere with your training.
Should I reduce my training volume? I’ve been on slow runs only for some months now due to patello-femoral pain syndrome which is now clearing up and my training load is (or rather was) increasing but is still fairly low at around 25-30 km/week.

RA here (rheumatic arthritis) and I am on Biologicals (IV's) every 4 weeks plus pills every week. I don't run after I received my IV (the same day that is), but besides that there is nothing preventing me from running. I ran 10 miles last year November.
Thanks to the Biologicals (immunosuppresants) I don't suffer any pains from my RA and can run ☺
I don't run fast and I Jeff (Jeffing), but that has nothing to do with my meds or illness. It is just that I feel better running slow and Jeffing.
I pushed myself hard (mentally) to reach those 10 miles and that was not good, because I started to dislike running. I actually stopped running after reaching 10 miles both because of the mental pressure I had put on myself and a scare I got (meeting a creepy old man). But that had nothing to do with my health or meds. I actually just yesterday started running again because my ostheopath thinks it is good for me.
But every person is different and every ilness is different. In my case (RA with Biologgicals and the pills) there is absolutely no reason to do something different from other people. Unless my joints should start aching of course...
Yeah I am checking with my docs, just wondering about other people’s experience.
I’m not a fast runner either and I know what you mean, I very much love and enjoy slow easy runs. But I’d like to be faster, and I do like to push myself every now and then and I don’t know if that’s OK or what are the limits.
My ailment is Crohn’s but in my case it’s “silent”, I have no symptoms. But I do need the biologicals to contain the inflammation and avoid escalation (potential strictures etc).
