Mad as a box of frogs 🐸 slow as a snail 🐌

I’d read about this run and it was the last one of week 3 on my plan. I ran first run of week 4 day before yesterday but when i looked at progress, week 3 showed as incomplete, so I went back to complete it.

got to the beach, left Willow on the blanket, off I went, it’s hot 🥵 but theresa little breeze, just realized it’s Saturday so much busier than usual, walking the warm up, thinking should have popped to the ladies, shall i go back? it’s not far, nah it’ll be fine.

Started the first 7 minute interval at 7mpk and breathing deeply. Ooo it’s warm and the trainer chatting and popping back every minute, aaaah first interval done. Brisk walk, people everywhere but the track has widened.

Got to the end of the track just as I started the second interval, loop round the road, along past the flats and round back towards the sea front, past a very pretty church, I’m slower now but still faster than usual, second interval over and walk to recover, brisk walk smiling all the way, third interval, I’m tiring and that call to the ladies was getting a bit important. Briefly wondered if I could hide in the bushes? hmm nope, they are all brambles, kept going but slowing, run over and I’ve got a way to walk, lovely tufts of tall grass by the first beach hut, could I hide in there? better not, imagine peeing and killing someone’s prize fancy grasses.

Ah, almost there 😀big grin and made it.

I loved that run but it’s too hot and after work too tired. Change under a towel and we both waded into the sea which was wonderful, we stayed in ages for us. Dried off in the sun and came home.

Lovely run and swim.

Run or rest happy and remember to drink loads

Oh to get in the sea after a run sounds like absolute bliss 🌊🏊‍♀️👍Well done on those intervals and glad you made it to the ladies 🤣

Not so fast, dijep! Sherlock might point out there is no mention of going to the Ladies before getting into the sea. Are we to conclude…?

I did I did, and there were about 8 people in there and I thought oh no! a queue but….. just a couple of mums and a load of kids on their way out

The trouble is, once you start thinking about the loo, it just gets worse doesn’t it?

How brilliant to get a swim in afterwards too. I did go in yesterday, and although there were lots of screams as the water rose up my body, it was lovely after a few strokes. I think I might be back again tomorrow but there won’t be any lying on the beach in this heat. 🥵

Can’t go until after work so laying on the beach doesn’t last long but it really washes the day away and is so refreshing, we have got past the screams, , we just get in. I might have a very short run tomorrow, day off Monday and see what Tuesday brings it would be foolish if it’s as hot as they say it will be to run far but if i don’t, long run will have to wait til saturday and i’m impatient

You have done so well getting back to your running and are so obviously enjoying it, please don't even THINK about running on Tuesday. It's not worth it! Now, swimming..... 🥰 xx

You’ll have to get up at sun break to run on Tuesday. On you your day off? Nah .

That’s a bit muddled, day off running Monday day off work tuesday but thinking it would be silly to do a long run tuesday as it’s going to be hot

Good for you both another and a swim. I was caught short out a walk with Mr D and I knew I couldn’t make it. Mr D on guard duty as I went into a field. Must be my age or something 🤣

Fields are one thing, busy sea fronts another, it was getting a little worrying though

Yikes, not a bad incentive to keep going though! 😵‍💫

You’re braver than me, I really struggle in the heat. I bet the sea was lovely and warm.

I’m stuck inside all flipping day and am transferring a lot of my paperwork to spreadsheets so after work I need to get outside so I might as well run, yes the sea was perfect 🤩

Oh the sea swims I am very envious! It’s too darn hot in town and running only before work this week so getting up very early and finding the shade! Been out this morning Sunday for a 5k running along by the woods , yes we have them in London!! Stopped on way back for pastries 😋 but oh for a swim now 🌊🌊 looks like any form of movement is out for the next few days ☄️

Wow you run done already, yes we are lucky to have the sea just down the road, I can’t get up early enough to run before work

I’ve always been amazed at how green London is Wavy-chick! Little (and not so little!) parks and gardens all over the place!

That sounds great, Triple 7s is one of my favourites, and a dip afterwards? Perfect!PS remember the golden rule: if you have to think about whether you need the loo you do!!! 😂

Yes I know he golden rules but i’d only just been so thought it was my imagination, I quite liked it but she did talk a lot more than i expected

The sea is fabulous at the moment isn’t it Sola, Dexy and I had a dip the other day and I may go down again later! But running in this heat? Think I’ll wait till it cools down! But well done you on continuing with your plan!

Thanks Scruff, if I don’t get out after work I only run once or twice a week so I make an effort
