A year since graduating

If I'd remembered that today marked a year since graduating C25K I'd probably have put a bit more effort in πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Instead, we set off for a gentle 5k across the fields, enjoying the newly mown pathways, the summer air, butterflies, wild flowers, you know the drill. It felt very warm even though we set off comparatively early. It was too warm for me to do my Terminator run, I tried but just couldn't force myself.

Once home, showered, breakfast eaten, I logged onto Facebook and saw my sweaty red face staring at me saying I'd just completed C25K. I felt a bit miffed that I still haven't managed 10k, but then I reflected. A year ago the idea that a 5k run before breakfast would be part of my routine and not something exceptional would have been quite staggering. So maybe it's just as well that today's run was something so 'normal' :)

It’s amazing how what’s normal changes so much. Congratulations on your anniversary-it sounds like a lovely run to celebrate and look back with.

Thanks πŸ‘

Our little running group promised ourselves a meal together when we finally completed the C25K as a treat. Two and a bit years on from completing week 9 we finally had our celebration. A feat that at the time seemed an impossibility until we actually did it!

A 5K run is now the minimum each day, 10K if we have a bit more time. We have all done more and a couple of a group are close to 20K, one of which was worried that she would not be able to move on to week 2 and so we repeated week one a few times. Look at her go now!!

Wow, that's progress! Well done to all of you. What's that expression about 'the impossible takes a little longer'?

Marvellous. One year on. It's such a great milestone.

I got sick on the 1 year after c25k finish. But yesterday was the one year after my first 10 miler.

Our running club is well into the June team challenges so the emphasis is on elevation. You get points for every 10 metres you climb on a run. I celebrated yesterday with a local 3 peaks challenge around the peak district and even made it a rare double run day going out with another social group in the evening.

It's so flat around here that an elevation challenge would never get off the ground (groan). Well done on your achievement. The only hills I've done was on holiday in Greece and they weren't nearly as bad as I expected.
