On our annual holiday in Padstow and brought my running gear (forgot various other essentials tho! How my priorities have changed over the last 18 months π). At home my running route is pretty flat so decided to head off down the Camel Trail. Walked down here many times but I seemed to get a different perspective running down it π€·πΌββοΈ all very quiet, which surprised me as I wasn't out that early, but met lots more walkers, cyclists and runners on way back. Everyone was really friendly and the views...π what a wonderful gift this running malarkey is. Relaxed 6K and a cheeky Cornish gin later in the day. It would have been rude not to ππ§
Holiday run : On our annual holiday in Padstow... - Bridge to 10K
Holiday run
We stayed in a converted chapel just 100m from the Camel Trail near Bodmin back in summer 2018. I wasn't running then, but definitely would have trod that former railway track a lot if had I been!
It's nice and flat which I love! π I haven't been on the trail at the Bodmin end but there are stretches of embankment where you can't see anything really (but is nice and cool on a hot day π) and then suddenly it opens up to glorious views. I imagine at busier times you'd need to be on the ball tho! Suspect children and off lead dog owners may bring challenges ππ³
Glorious... well done you. A run for pure joy.... enjoy! xxx
Wonderful. Thatβs where I did my C25K because itβs so flat, but really interesting. If you feel up to it the distance between the Padstow bike hire to the Wadebridge bike hire and back is 10 miles and probably the easiest (haha!) you can do. Enjoy π
Oh wow, what a fantastic place for you to have completed C25K. There's always a bend up ahead that lures you round with the promise of a view isn't there? I'm (reluctantly π) adding hill work into my runs and thought about heading out of Padstow in the other direction, up towards the war memorial. Er, no π³ maybe next year lol. Wadebridge it is!!
Looks a lovely place to run π
