First post-holiday run

Pleased to say I don’t have the blues but might do by Monday when I return to work for the craziness of clearing (University admissions). Until then I am enjoying the continued break and ran a hot 8k this evening. The forecast was cooler and with rain and I thought I was getting out during a break in the weather after a heavy downpour this afternoon. The sunshine caught me out and I should have carried water with me but cooling down now on my doorstep with a pint of water is bliss!

Found a trail I haven’t run in a while, after a lovely long downhill to the valley bottom, but recent rain left a couple of paths a little narrow for my liking! Unfortunately a long downhill is inevitably followed by the climb back up, to my last 2k was run/walk as it was relentless!

Feeling every ounce of my holiday weight gain (yet to be weighed but it will be bad!!), but happy to have covered the distance today. Back on good eating now after frankly weeks of self-neglect, or indulgence, depending on your point of view: discovering it’s really true that you can’t out-run a bad diet 😉

Happy running to all my VRB’s xx

Lovely photographs Molly, and a beautiful run by the sound of it...and 8K !!!!

Wow, well done you and in the warmth and with a climb too!

Great to make the most of it, too, before the rush starts!!

Phew.... ! You are going to really need some relaxing runs tucked in somewhere there too:)

Your holiday has set you up so you will be ready to take on the new challenges ! 😉

I have to get two more runs in this week somehow.. but not sure when !!

Hopefully back at the coast next week too though.. I shall miss you being there!! x

Bless you, Floss, but you know you will enjoy the solitude of your Sunday long run!

I am really going to need the stress management of running during autumn term as we will be woefully short of staff, so I will have to be strict with myself to ensure I am getting them in.

This evening I realised I broke the 200 mile mark (for the year) whilst running on Saturday, so that’s a bonus!

I hadn’t realised that I’d ended our run on 99.5 miles... I would certainly have ignored my bladder and gone on for longer had I known!

Ha ha...I had to round it up...I am a bit odd like that! No worries you did it! We shall run again..! Xx

Looks a lovely run Molly. You can outrun a bad diet - it just takes a little while!

I think it’s better if you change the diet too, Sandie! Thank you x

Fantastic Molly! Your run sounded like a longer version of mine today. Unexpected warmth and hills! 🥵🥵

Yes! And I missed a turn on the trail as everything was more overgrown than the last time I ran it so I ended up running further and with a longer hill at the end! I’m not good with hills on the whole!

Arghh! Poor you! I love hills as a rule, within reason obviously - but not when it’s this humid. Bring on the cooler weather! 💦🏃‍♀️🤞
