Test run today

Finally symptom free today..yay! The official isolation period ended a couple of days ago but I was still symptomatic and testing positive. Today, no symptoms and tested negative.

As I had not run since tuesday last week, I wanted to start at the first opportunity before my brain starts making excuses lol.

It was a gorgeous Autumn day today, a slight warm sunshine, not too hot and not too cold. I was feeling fine, not tired so decided to do a 5k run at easy pace. Did 5.5K in 40mins and feeling fine so far. Took a few pics at the end of the run :) Was glad to capture the last stage of Autumn before it ends this month.

Just to ease myself back into running so I can start the 10miles training, I am planning to do another easy 5k on Saturday. If all goes well, next week will be the start of MT10P (Me_time 10miles Programme 😁)

Week 1: 11k, 6k, 5k

Week 2: 12k, 6k, 5k

Week 3: 13k, 6k, 5k

Week 4: 14k, 6k, 5k

Week 5: 8k, 5k, 5k

Week 6: 15k, 6k, 5k

Week 7: 16.1k (10miles), 6k, 5k

Thank you everyone for great advise and suggestions on last couple of posts.

The only change I'd suggest is to make some of your shorter runs even shorter, eg. 3km, and allow yourself to do them a bit faster. The aim being to balance out stamina with a little bit of speed work.

You might notice me going from doing 20km in one run to 2 miles in the next. Apart from making sure I don't overdo the mileage, I'm also trying to make sure that I balance out the types of muscle fibres that get used.

I was going to suggest this precisely πŸ‘

Nothing to add to nowster's suggestion. Good luck with your 10mile plan! πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
