MK Marathon Highlights

I guess there are two:

Meeting the legendary roseabi . It's kind of weird to meet up three years after I bounced out of C25K into the Marathon forum so that I could take part in a speed challenge. Great to meet up though!

The other highlight for me was the finish: with about 200m to go, I put in some extra effort. Then someone sprinted past me. I wasn't going to take that so, with about 50m to go, I went for an all out sprint! Managed to overtake the guy (with some encouragement from him). So, a flat out sprint finish! Must have made an impression because someone from the crowd complemented me on my finish a few minutes later.

Love the photo! It looks very quiet - were you early???🤣 That's definitely the way to end a race ... but a marathon? Wow, amazing!!!

It was really quiet the whole day through, for a road race it really has a trail marathon vibe 😊😊😊

Er, um, I mean yes we were early 😂😂😂

Congratulations to you SkiMonday on completing the MK Marathon, you will be very pleased with yourself regarding that sprint in the last 200 metres, that's a nice photo of you and Roseabi.

I was doing some stretches by the bag drop. Having met before the event, I remembered the colour combination that you were wearing.

Hope you had a good trip home.

No worries regarding your watch details!

I was quite brightly dressed 😂

Well done for your run!!!!! Hope you have a peaceful journey today. I got home at about 10:30pm, so it was a long day, but it was wonderful to go to sleep in my own bed 😊😊😊

Wow! Go SM! That must have felt amazing at the finish. I’m seriously impressed anyone has any energy at the end of a marathon to put on any kind of sprint finish, so well done you 💪

And what a lovely thing to meet up with our roseabi 😍 well done both of you 👏👏

It certainly made for a fun end to the race!

I saw someone who could have been roseabi but I thought the name on her race number was "Adi". By the time I got close enough to read it properly, I'd been recognised!
