Parkrun tourism in Chesterfield

My lovely stepdaughter completed C25K a couple of months ago but had never tried parkrun, mainly because her girls have dance lessons on Saturday morning. However, as it’s a Bank Holiday weekend, she agreed to give it a go and left daddy to sort out the girls. She even went out to do a recce on Thursday! So we got up a bit earlier for the hour’s drive across to the Poolsbrook run. Beautiful sunshine. Lined up along with about 300 other runners for 3 laps of the lake. She said I could go ahead if I wanted, but I decided to run with her to keep her company. Glad I did because she said she would have walked some of the third lap if she’d been on her own. I had plenty left for a sprint finish and she did her 2nd fastest 5k 👏👏👏 Then off for a coffee in the cafe (10% discount with your bar code).

Yes they were worried they would run out of tokens . The fall back position was write the number on the runners hand and record them manually. Luckily not necessary.

There’s a duathlon here tomorrow so I think extra runny people were around.

Ii was high tide again at Pwllheli.. so I was heading to Dolgellau... as it was I overslept!!! So I ended up doing a 5K around Cricceth... which was much quieter and drier I was glad really, because the report for the Dolgellau run said t was their largest number ever.. 175 folk... that is a lot of people, for the narrow out and in track.. I think I may have freaked out

Thanks BC! I was really tempted by the cupcakes in the cafe but was coming home for a BBQ so resisted. They did look yummy though 🧁
