It’s sunny outside and warm, I got my very short denim shorts out the back of the wardrobe, this is what I wanted to wear for our short slow run this morning. Got them up!!! only just 😳doing them up might have been possible if I lay on the floor and struggled but at 66 I’m a bit past that, it would have hurt too much. A real oh dear moment, I thought I wore them last summer but it must have been the one before or even the one before that 😀
Anyway, found something that still fits and sorted music on both watches, had a quick look at new watches (not sure why) online and off we went.
Willow said his glutes are a little achy and my quads are a little achy from climbing the hill and running part way down yesterday but only to be expected.
Walk round track to warm up, start our watches…..and we’re off! Cat Stevens loud in my ears
Realised this wasn’t a slow pootle, glanced at watch, 7mpk how long can i keep this up? 250 metres is the answer to that then slowed down, glanced over my shoulder and Willow is walking 🚶♀️ but a few metres further on and he comes sprinting past me so I sped up again. First kilometre in 8.47 which is fast for me.
We carried on like that for a few minutes then i noticed Willow has disappeared 😳 but hey I’m running so I carry on.
2k in 18.17 min second slower but I’m happy. Stop the watch and walk back to the car to find Willow who had run so fast on his short sprints that he wore himself out, he’s not used to all this excercise 😀
The park was busier with children playing and scooting, it was lovely, the blossom and new green leaves stunning.
Home, stretch, antibiotic, tea, coffee, toast….. oh no I’m not supposed to eat for an hour after that pill so Willow ate 2 bits and I’m off for a bath.
Happy running or resting or walking, just take joy from the day

Snuck over here as I’m not yet finished with the c25k but popped in to say how much I enjoyed your post. Thank you. Felt as if I was there with you. Enjoying the run after walk story too, as that may or may not be me tomorrow.
Hi and welcome, I did that for the Marathon forum, as people progress it’s good to still see their posts and I still dream of running longer. We have been running for almost 3 years though and I have run consecutive days, so if your legs are tired after your long walk then go slower or cut the run short, it should be fine though because i did read you walk a lot
Yes glorious here too, our trouble is we really enjoy good food and i’ve always cooked everything from scratch, which means a lot of meals have extra cheese and other tasty things, but quitting smoking added over a stone ….. twice……. and I still have all my old clothes, every so often some goes but lately I’ve spent too much time doing nothing, but top end of healthy weight isn’t the end of the world, we are both happy
Taking joy from the day and you certainly did that! You had a really good run and managed too, to take in all that beauty Gorgeous blossom. Just such a lovely colour!
I hope Willow has recovered his equilibrium now and that you have rested and had refreshments too !
Well done both of you! xxx
PS
I popped some crop jeans on today and had a similar feeling to you...I was delighted though, because as you know, I am TRYING to put weight on... so I squeezed into them and enjoyed the tight feeling... for a while, anyway!
Yes better for you to squeeze into trousers, trouble is leggings are so accommodating, they stretch or not 😊 the shorts would have cut me in half,
Willow was fine he just can’t seem to plod along like I can so often only runs about 20 minutes, he’s made a new song this afternoon so hasn’t moved for hours, it’s important he gets out each day xxx
It was great thanks, but going out each day we need to be sensible 😂It was really hard but i am sticking to the rules as much as possible. When I prepared our dinner, I took another antibiotic and every time i went to the fridge i nearly put something in my mouth, made me realise how much i eat during meal prep time
Lovely day for your run today , and your picture of,the blossom tree is lovely. Too cold for me in short shorts, not as warm up here as down south even for my walk in mornings, frosty here this morning 1 degree. Take care
Every day until next Tuesday then enforced rest for a while and I know you are faster but it was fun to feel like proper running instead of plodding for a change
Good to know you were out too it’s been a lovely day, My problem is I just can’t get rid of my pre no smoking clothes, I live in hope, after tuesday it’ll be yogurt and mashed potato for about a week lol but unless i can get out and run it won’t make a difference
What a glorious photo Sola! Sorry to hear about your wardrobe problems - I think you’ll find it’s down to denim shrinkage rather than anything you’ve done🙄. At least that’s what I tell myself at similar times! But I’m sure you’ll get back into them before long if you carry on with all your running and walking up hills!
Sounds like a great run there, it’s all about the enjoyment. What fabulous blossom, too! Denim definitely shrinks if left unattended. I’ve just bought a new pair of jeans and they are denim, but really stretchy! It’s the answer! 😂
I have some next size up but they have growing room and I’d rather not grow, i’ve spent the last 2 years growing in leggings, leggings under scrubs at work leggings too and from work and leggings to run in, on days off i wear a different pair of leggings with loose shirt over top, I suppose that will do. Maybe one day they will say go back to wearing your own clothes to work…..then i’m going to be in trouble, it is lovely out, the trees were in full blossom almost 3 years ago when we started C25K
It’s too easy to wear leggings. I need to buy some more! Wow, 3 years. I can’t remember exactly when I started but it was about 2 years ago. Oh, in May I think! Instructor57 will know, he started on the same day!
