Don your running leggings and you go out for a run.So I ran yesterday, 3k, run 1 of the NRC 10k plan, run 2 (and I know I can mix them up) is 555 seconds, I didn't think that would satisfy me after a day's rest so I sent the times to my watch, 5 min zone 1, warm up, start coach B and 10 min zone 2, then coach B ended at 555 seconds, 5 min zone 1.
Such a change from yesterday, rain, grey skies, oh well. So I donned my running leggings, followed by the rest of my clothes including a sweatshirt because I didn't think I'd get warm enough in so short a run, paired my headphones.....jumped, said bl***y h**l and turned the sound down.....some of my hearing is back 😁! Or at least on its way back.
It's wet out but not too cold, I'd forgotten my hat so very soon my glasses were spattered so I tucked them into the waistband of my leggings and carried on.
Listen to your body is the mantra to remember. I've been running extra slow to keep my heartrate low, when I first started this a few weeks ago a few shuffling steps and it shot up, in fact I had to walk less than half pace to get it down again.
Enter a week long battle with doctors to get antibiotics and 6 days later I couldn't walk fast enough to get my heartrate to the top of zone 1, I ran at a gentle pace and watched hr steadily climb, everything feels great and I'm going faster than lately but not pushing it.
I didn't go far, the 555 seconds were soon over, which is apparently 9 min 15 secs. My heartrate was still low so I carried on running through the coil down but slower, but coach B had finished so I upped the pace, grinned, glanced at my watch and whoops!!! And walk. Average heartrate for this short fun run was 119 so I'm happy.
Run well or rest if you need.
