Slow start to the week

A 15 minute recovery run today, starting on '12 weeks to go' on the NRC HM. Last week's running was outside the plan, for one thing I listened to the '11 weeks to go' guided run by mistake on Monday, optimism lol, then the weather was so grim I didn't get out until Saturday when I did a chilly 6+ km.

Silly me, I didn't do any stretches afterwards. I was too busy drinking tea and eating cake with my new running buddies and do I ever know it? My thigh muscles have been yelling at me since yesterday morning. I did a yoga stretching session and took paracetamol but they were still grumbling when I woke up.

So today the plan was to just go very, very easy. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground and husband still isn't able to run with me so I just ran around a small patch of woodland for 15 minutes, as slowly as I could. Average pace 10'53 minutes per km. I honestly do walk faster than that. I went for a 9km walk afterwards, my fastest pace on that was considerably quicker than my fastest running pace this morning. I think my thigh muscles may have forgiven me now.

Anyway, even Coach Bennett couldn't have accused me of overdoing it this morning. Looking forward to hill starts tomorrow if the weather holds. Only problem is that this area is soooo flat!! Maybe I'll listen to the guided run and just do intervals, sshhh don't tell him πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I'm glad your muscles have forgiven you and eased a little. I completed the 12 weeks to go Hill intervals yesterday and managed to stay in control - just 😁.

The people out walking the dogs and prams were a little confused as I past them up and down the hill many times at what must have appeared to be a random lunatic sprinting, jogging and fast walking.

Don't worry if you can't find a hill, it will be tiring enough on the flat 🀣🀣🀣.

Good luck πŸ‘

Thanks, I was hoping the flat might just be a bit easier πŸ˜‚
