Yesterday evening I had the brilliant idea that we should run to the nearest town, 8km away, get breakfast afterwards and get a lift home.
This morning was cold and windy. I didn't feel like running at all. Found a great Jo Wiley podcast to boost my energy but you can't download music from BBC Sounds in Greece so that idea didn't work either. Decided to do the same 5km route we did on Monday.
As we left it started to rain, thankfully only a few drops. From here on the run improved.
I decided I was going to run at a pace I felt comfortable with and made a conscious decision not to push too hard or check my heart rate. As before the third km when we ran across the sandy beach was the slowest and the run up the final hill was the fastest.
When I got home I found I was 30 seconds faster than on Monday. My heartrate told me I spent 66% of the run in zone 5 rather than 49% on Monday but subjectively it rarely felt like hard work (and I slowed down when it did).
Roll on Friday except it's supposed to be 21C and I've only got warm running leggings with me π
Attached photo was taken on Monday, it really was that much of an effort (I was going too fast for the camera to catch me today)
