Run 4 of NRC listening to coach Bennett got my 35mins in but the last 2 minutes Ouch the back of my calves was really hurting. I walked for 15 minutes to ease the pain which eventually did ho into just a dull ache.
When I did my 3 10k sπββοΈ
it didnt hurt so what have I done wrong? I did my dynamic stretches before I set off, then went into the gym to do some weights then stretched when I finished. Should I have stretched before doing my weights??ποΈββοΈ
Should I have a break I dont want to ruin what I've done in the last 6 months
Advice would be appreciated

I'm no expert but there are many reasons why you may feel pain. Overworking your muscles is one of them. It won't hurt to have a bit of a longer break between runs just to give your calves some more time to recover. It probably won't hurt to stretch between running and weights. Hope your legs feel better soon π
Hi doggytail, I have a similar issue which I am putting down to overwork. The NRC programme is working me harder than when I take myself out for a run.
I am going to have at least 2 days rest after a tough NRC workout and see how that goes.
Its also the reason I purchased that foam roller device π€¬π€¬ππ
Hiya, would you mind if I asked where you got your form roller from and are there various sizes and how did you know which one to get? I keep reading about foam rollers but never actually tried them.ππββοΈ
I ordered it from Argos click and collect. I got the blue one which is medium firm I think. It is fine for me and I'm around 15 stone (muscleπ€£π€£). I didn't fancy the one which looks like an attachment in the farming industry π³
Have you done more walking than usual or worn different height shoes for every day? I only ask because I once had very tight calves and eventually worked out it was because Iβd worn mule things in the garden and I wasnβt used to them.
Use a foam roller or roll a tennis ball under your calves. You can even massage them yourself successfully.
