I was faffing around feeling very much like not running in the morning, but the mood took me when I got back from the garden centre at 5pm. I did a route which I always think is cheating a bit, because there's much more downhill than uphill. I headed along a bridleway, down the hill, across a road, then on to the canal path. It was a lovely sunny evening but feeling autumnal, with deep evening shadows and much cooler. I ran 5k, and felt pretty good. I even enjoyed the steep uphill walk back home! Showered, did a bit of gardening, great. But as I stood up from the sofa to head off to bed I realised at 11.25pm that I hadn't stretched ๐จ this is what happens when I deviate from routine ๐ (I did my stretches before I went to bed, wearing my fluffy slippers)

Evening run for a change
Lol routineโs a good thing. I know. Iโve gone to work with only half my make-up on after being disturbed half way through by the postman knocking ๐๐๐๐
Sounds lovely and it's so much lovelier as it's cooler. I now have an image in my head of you in fluffy slippers and bendy legs ๐ Didn't the slippers get in the way?
I occasionally go for an evening run; usually as result of the day being otherwise too full. Huge disadvantage...no cafe to finish off! I always return home from an evening run calm, chilled out and not long after sitting down after my shower....oblivion! My 5 min walk home is my substitute for stretches; not fit for anything after a late 5k!
Sounds like you had one of those really enjoyable runs, then some nice fluffy slipper stretches ๐๐
I have a regular route that is more downhill than uphill - sometimes you just have to treat yourself !๐
Good on ya for doing your stretches before bed, sometimes tempting not to bother when you've remembered you forgot!? ๐ค...you know what I mean! On the odd occasion I've thought sod it I've regretted it the following morning ๐ซ
