New Undercrackers

β€’17 Replies

To be honest, I really wasn't feeling it this morning. Cold, damp and miserable even with the sun out. However, on the positive side I purchased some man pants from M&S to try out for running so it would be worth making the effort.

Once outside and doing my warm up run (Gently) i was immediately engaged with the fun of running. In an instant my mind had switched from "cant be bothered" to "this is feeling great". Amazing

What is key (for me) is having recently learned how to gently ease my way into a run. No longer am I breathless after my warm up. What a difference it makes. Its taken me 10 long hard months of stubbornness for the penny to properly drop.

Anyhow, had a great interval session with the HM NRC plan, man pants seem to be good with no holes as yet.

Time for a shower and a cuppa.

Get out there folks and have FUN.

So much easier and enjoyable once that penny drops 😁

Oh yes Sir. It is like the secret switch except it is not so secret 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣. People have told me the "secret formula" for months and months 😁🀣🀣😁

Great that you are feeling positive about the running now. It is hard to explain to non runners how enjoyable a run can be. I myself was in that boat this time last year and found it a hard slog during the c25k and for a few weeks after. But like you I have caught the enjoyable bug now and hope to keep it as long as I can.

Fantastic. It is really strange. I have spent far too long trying to figure out what makes for a happy run. All along the good folks on here have politely told me to go gently. And that, for me, was the answer.

Keep at it and enjoy yourself πŸ‘

That's fantastic! People can repeat 'the secret' a thousand times but it's no good until it finally clicks like it did for you πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ do you think those new man pants may have something to do with it too? 🧐

β€’ in reply toBeatlesforever

Without a doubt 🀣.

My new man pants underneath my meggings and man shorts makes me fly through those runs.

PS even though I like them I thought £24 for 3 pairs was quite expensive. Blimey. Hope they last through to next winter 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣😁😁😁

Better not run too fast then, don't want them wearing out too soon 🀣

Well done! It took me ages to figure this out too 😊. I start some of my runs so slowly I could almost be going backwards but I get there in the end!

But more importantly, how were the new undercrackers? 🀩🀣

β€’ in reply toFrenc

Nice and comfy which is great and they stay around the assets which is a bonus. Yay 😁

New kit as motivator! That switch is remarkable. Guess it’s why we first celebrate getting out and just starting. …the rest generally follows. Having eased the pace is definitely reaping rewards. Knowing that your runs can be enjoyable inclines you to want to do more.πŸ™ŒπŸ‘πŸ™ŒπŸ‘

β€’ in reply toGailXrunning

Absolutely right GailXrunning on both counts. Slowing down and not being overly concerned with pace has really increased enjoyment and enthusiasm.

And ....... when I'm properly warmed up I can choose to go a bit faster if my body feels it wants to.

Perfect.

Totally agree about the slow start to make for an enjoyable run! Congrats on the pants - but are you seriously expecting holes after one wear? I mean.....😱
