The lovely Mr I Don’t Snore, alias Mic, bought me a second pair of On Cloudflyers for my birthday. The arrived today. They are my favourite running shoes, the ones that feel totally me when I put them on (followed closely by my wonderful, light, sprightly and responsive On Cloudventure Peak trail shoes), and my original pair are beginning to show signs of wear, so I shall be rotating them with the new ones. One photo shows all four pairs of running shoes. The bright orange and grey pair on the left are Cloudsurfer (s) and are very peppy and fast, but I don’t love them as much as the Flyers. Excuse worn blue carpet. I would have stripped the floorboards if we were staying here.
I think these Flyers are the latest model, and I was a bit worried in case the size had changed, but the only difference seems to be that the laces are a bit shorter, though that might be due to newness and they will stretch out. Anyway, I will run in them later and see how they feel.
Ooh love a new pair of shoes - and love orange too! They look fab - lucky you! I have just ordered the same shoes as my current ones, but a size larger, in the sale for more than half price - I am reluctant to change as I love them so much and they are so comfortable, but they have gone through at the toe, so I think I should go up a whole size rather than the half size that I did previously. Waiting with baited breath for them to arrive either today or tomorrow!
I thought you’d notice that! It’s mainly because On are a bit limited in their women’s shoe colours. The new ones are actually salmon pink, but the camera has made them more orange, and I can’t be bothered to correct in photoshop for colour balance for a phone shot 😊
Firstly, I hope you had a very lovely birthday! Secondly, 😍😍😍THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! And you know how much I love On Cloudflyers (with all my heart). I like that colourway, but wished they did more variations in the Flyer for women. My Flyers have served me well, and feel like a second skin rather than a pair of running shoes. Am due a new pair soon…
I wish you many happy runs in them, dear Flick! xxx
Thank you dearest Sadie ❤️ That’s absolutely it, they feel like a second skin! And I agree about the colours ( see my response to our orange friend above). I prevaricated between the black ones and these, but salmon won out in the end. Can’t wait to try them out xxx
I would love a pair of bright, grass green running shoes, but you rarely see running shoes in green, do you? I wonder why that is? But! Cloudflyers are so heavenly to run in (and they didn't pay me to say that), I don't actually care at the end of the day what colour they are. Let us know how your first run out in them go. I think I will invest in new ones just before my sabbatical (during which I will mostly be running!) xxx
I would love grass green too. Yes, I will post when I’ve run in them. Not far today. After deserting me for weeks, the early morning waking has had me up at 4.30 two days running xxx
Lovely shoes Flick! I’ve just ordered a new pair of Launch 4s as like Dizzysmum I’m going through the toes. I may not be able to get them soon as they are an old model, but they fit so well I don’t want to change!! 😩
I think those are the shoes I gave my daughter when they turned out to be too small for me.i can’t run in Brooks shoes as they make me heel strike, but she loves them x
Yes, that sounds like them. I have to get a size bigger and also wear socks that cover the heel as the back needs a bit of wearing in. I think they are very much a Marmite shoe.
Oh Flick, those are lovely! Having recently unwrapped my Christmas present to myself (how sad am I?!) which was the Cloud Venture Waterproof trail shoes, I know just how exciting those shoe boxes from onrunning can be. I hope the three of you are very happy together
Right - must go because I'm not supposed to be looking at porn whilst at work

That did make me laugh, especially the porn bit. Do let us know how you get on with the trail shoes. I adore my Cloudventure Peaks.

Well if you saw my last post, I messed up and forgot to swap my orthotic insoles from my usual shoes to my new trail shoes when I went out for my long run on Friday. I did remember to take the stock insoles out though, so basically ran for 11 miles with no insoles at all. End result: very very tight calves, and blisters! But on previous runs with them, they were amazing. I even tried them on some proper trail-type terrain. The hills were just as steep though
It also amuses me the number of occurences of the word "porn" there are in this thread

I did see that post but got sidetracked by the insoles and blisters. I’m glad the shoes are good.
As for porn, what else are we to do with our daytimes? (Heads to On site for ilicit peek at waterproof trail shoes 😈)

Careful Flick, I also had to warn Sadie-runs about her illicit shoe-fondling habit last year!!
Oh my....how the heck do you choose which pair you're going to wear?! You're a very stylish runner young lady...and you give me shoe envy, even though I love my clouds...I think I might go for orange next time, they are gorgeous...Mr I don't snore has def got as good a taste in trainers as he has in women 😉😉
If I’m going for a short sprint and the roads are dry, I often pick the Cloudsurfers. Longer road runs or public races on tarmac, I wear the Cloudflyers ( the idea of two pairs is to rotate them and stop them wearing out so fast). If I’m going across country I use the trail shoes, though the Cloudflyers have had their share of trails and cope well. You didn’t actually want a full explanation, did you 😂😂😂🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️❤️❤️❤️Xxx
