Day 2 of being at home and going for a run.

I hope everyone’s Christmas Day was as fabulous as ours

So! after all the delicious food and opening of gifts and seeing more people than i can count we came home fell asleep on the sofa before the evening entertainment started, I woke with a shock and have never cooked a full roast with all the trimmings so fast, our visitor arrived just before it was done.

With full tummies we groaned our way through a rather short night full of weird dreams.

Got up this morning feeling rather worse for wear and got ready for a run.

A few people in the park with their dogs and as we round the corner a family of four, mum, dad, a little one carrying a scooter and a bigger one carrying skates ooo they look brand new!!!

Off we jog, mist and drizzle and flat grey skies we tootle along settling in to a slow rhythm matching stride for stride, in all of this greyness me a bright yellow blob.

As usual I start to get bored so leave the path and run round the grass, this is lovely nice and steady I think to myself I could run like this all day, it’s about my 10k pace! πŸ˜€a nice easy run, i look across the park at Willow and see he’s walking, probably sensible, I potter on smiling at dog walkers and singing in my head to the tunes in my ears, it’s very wet and soggy on the grass and i’m carrying more mud than usual on my feet The girl on skates being held firmly each side by her parents but gaining some balance, I said some words of encouragement each time I passed and was rewarded with grins all round.

The little one on the scooter was whizzing round then stopping, so there I am running along as she stands there on her scooter, you’re fast i call out, race you!!!! what a twit I am at times, so she set off and I sprinted like mad, legs pumping, arms pumping, breathing deepens, I doubt I could talk πŸ˜‚ I didn’t bother trying

I slow glance at the watch and pace was 6.35mpk no wonder I could only keep that up for a while, 20 minutes passes as 2k clicks over, ear buds out, stop to say hello to a lady with a small white fluffy dog who’s been encouraging us on for over two and a half years, walk back to the car, Willow mumbles how slow it was so he got a bit of a slow is best lecture, home for tea fruit and yogurt

Run happy all and have a lovely day

No certainly not interrupt a rest day, I’m running short every day because I’m back at work on Wednesday and it’s harder to run after work, I’ve just run 1k along the seafront with littleones on scooters

It’s been lovely being able to not rush up in the mornings and then go for a run
