Due to all sorts of reasons Um going to work the late shift in my Sunday of weekend off, but we started the Garmin 10k plan which tells us we need to run 3.22k at an easy pace. We’ve never run before work before.
Willows phone needed some charge and i am nearing the end of a good book but the phone just wasn’t charging, take mine i said oh no he answered. There was a bit more of that and he agreed to take mine after realising I was right for a change and mine does fit in his arm band,
79 degrees and a brisk walk round the track, passed a guy pushing a toddler in a pushchair going the other way.
On tuesday we have to do negative splits so we decided to start really slowly but I only seem to have Jess Glynn on my watch today so really slow wasn’t happening, Willow was listening to Chill steps by of course Willow and was loping along gently,
We passed that guy and toddler 7 times going the other way and were getting quite friendly, he was cheering us on after a few rounds
The sun shone there was a slight breeze and we did our 3.22 in 28 minutes 😀
Now i need to get my dripping self in a fit state to go to work and cool enough to don scrubs, a tabard a mask and a face shield, let’s hope there’s still ice lollies at work
Happy Sunday runners

Gorgeous photo Sola! Sorry that you have to work on such a lovely day but I hope you manage to find something cooling when you get there! Isn’t it nice to ‘make friends’ with the people we see out on our runs - after 7 times you must have almost been on the Christmas card list! (With huge apologies to all for using the C word in August! Won’t do it again until 23rd Dec!).
My colleague fell and broke some bones in her foot and it’s her weekend to work, it’s also meds swap over day so another colleague can’t do that and run the shift so i will only be there until about 8.30 pm when she can take over, the extra bit of money will be nice anyway and it’s lovely to see everyone enjoying the ice lollies. I’m off the rest of the week though and will swim as much as i can
Ooh your update has made me think about getting a Garmin - I didn’t know what it was before last week ! My better half wants to buy me an apple iwatch for my birthday (it’s a big one otherwise nothing so expensive would be considered !). I’m an iPhone user so that made sense but now I’m wondering which would be better Apple Watch or Garmin. I’m not exactly professional athlete so don’t need top of the range but ..... there are so many models ! What to do ?
Decisions decisions, I have always wanted a Garmin then the big thing happened and I dropped my iphone on New Years Day mid run and it dropped then slid across the ground smashing the screen
There are lots of reviews for both Garmin and Apple and i had thought of an Apple watch but they a different, so Garmin vivoactive 4s it was and my best ever birthday present 💝
Enjoy your search it’s great looking things up and deciding
Interesting. Actually just broached the other half with the idea and he’s categorical - Apple iwatch or nothing ! Think it unreasonable but his argument is to retain the phone function while not having your phone thus avoiding the scenario of dropping it which I’m also terrified of....
