I wasn't sure where to put this because it wasn't a run, just a walk. It's been a day of mixed emotions, I was up very early and drove here with very little traffic. Spent most the day trying to stay awake so I didn't miss the bed delivery that didn't come. Finally spoke to them and they told me it wasn't on the van!!! I was furious and the only thing you can do with fury is walk or run it off. So off I went, in warm sunshine looking for the sea .

Very soon I was on the beach and smiling again 😁.

I didn't walk very far but that soft sand is hard going. It's beautiful, I wanted a paddle but I wanted dinner more so I turned round as walked back again.

My first explore and I enjoyed it.

I've put a few photos together and as this is a running forum the runs will come soon .

Run happy or rest well xx

I wish you health and happiness in your new home Sue. That sand looks really good for strengthening the legs and ankles! I’d be using that every day if I was there 💪 Then a quick paddle to cool off. Perfect 👌

That's what I thought Brian, thank you, I'll be back and forth for a couple of weeks but I love this area, I intend to swim regularly too 😀

Beautiful open vistas there for walking or running. I hope you have another bed there for a good sleep tonight, and that the one you were expecting will be there tomorrow! 🤞

Happy new home! x

No bed but not the first time I've slept on the floor 😀

PeggySusi profile image
PeggySusi in reply to SueAppleRun

Oh! I feel outraged on your behalf that you had to do that. I suppose you will really appreciate sleeping in the bed when it arrives. ☺️

It's not coming til next week but I'll head south later today or tomorrow, it's not that much of a problem as I slept fairly well, need black out curtains though, I woke at dawn 🤣, going shopping later, might find a sunbed to sleep on. It's exercise though getting up off the floor 😁

PeggySusi profile image
PeggySusi in reply to SueAppleRun

A yoga mat might help? Mine is quite comfy.

Yes, blackouts are essential at this time of year. Confession.. I’ve had half- made blackout lined curtains pinned over my bedroom windows for almost a year. The light peeping round the edges should have made me get on with making them properly, but.. I hate sewing! I’m sure the annoyance of looking at them every night half done isn’t helping me to relax at all! 😂😂😂

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to PeggySusi

Ha ha ha, I'm not keen on sewing, gave my machine away the other day 😀.I went out bought a thick duvet, folded it in half, lay on it, pulled my thin one over me and slept a solid 2 hours this afternoon, much more comfy,

PeggySusi profile image
PeggySusi in reply to SueAppleRun

My machine is sitting in the corner making me feel guilty.. I should definitely do something with it!

Glad you managed a decent nap.. Hope you get an even better sleep tonight x

The North Sea has such big skies doesn’t it? Looks brighter there than in Lincolnshire too, even though not that far away. Walking/running by the sea can’t help but have a calming effect, especially with useless delivery companies. Ah well, tomorrow is another day xx

I got over my disappointment really quickly, yes, I was just thinking that last night, you can see for miles xx

I wonder where my answer went? Apologies if you get two.. I was thinking that about the skies last night 😀 he far away? Maybe I'll come to parkrun your way once I'm settled 😀 xx

How did I miss this Sue? I had no idea you were planning to move. Whereabouts are you in Norfolk? It looks beautiful. I hope you’ll be very happy in your new home and that your bed, when it arrives, will have been worth the wait! In the meantime, safe travels and rest well. Lots of love. Xx

I do 😁 it's a year since Willow died and it felt like time to make a new start xx

Makes sense. I’ll miss you, but you’re a great virtual running buddy. Do make contact whenever you’re on one of your return trips to the south coast. Here’s to new beginnings! Finally completed on my mum’s house yesterday, so it’s time for me to look for somewhere to buy, having been in rented accommodation for the best part of 30 years. Exciting but scary stuff! I think you were very brave. ❤️ Xx

A lovely location and walk to lose the frustration! It is going to be fun!

You are moving to a beautiful place and the prospect of new walks and new runs too, is a real adventure.

Your legs will need to be strong for that sandy run... and it really can take its a toll on the calf muscles... lots of exercises for those o though on S and F. remember my first one at Hafan Pwhelli ? Gosh, what a change !

healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

I did do it afterwards and I did get better at it... :)

It will be better when your bed arrives and you can get a decent night's sleep... hope it all goes well ! x

SueAppleRun I want to wish you all the very best with your new life by the sea in a beautiful part of the country. Being Essex born and bred, Great Yarmouth was our family holiday almost every year. This area holds a special place in my heart and when I'm in Essex in the Summer, hopefully Tasha and I can come and meet you there. Can't wait to hear and read about all of your adventures. What a beautiful place to call home 💚

SueAppleRun profile image

That would be lovely to meet. My grandparents lived not far from where I am so it holds lots of memories for e to

They really are fabulous photos, Sue. What a great place to live.

It was obviously a good time to go out and have a look at the nearest walks for you. The soft sand sounds like a good workout! You’ll have muscles on muscles! Perhaps hold off on the Great Yarmouth North Beach parkrun for a while though 🤣.

I still feel annoyed about your bed, maybe I should go for a walk, too! If you’re staying another night I hope you get something softer to sleep on. xx

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Jools2020

😁 yes on all counts Jools, I'm no longer annoyed, the walk did wonders, I'm going to build back up slowly, I always forget how tiring driving is, xx

Hope someone’s feeling sheepish about your failed bed delivery Sue. That wasn’t good, but getting out in the fresh air was definitely a good move.

Here’s to a happy time in your new home. Enjoy exploring and we look forward to hearing about your runs! 😀

If you go for a run along the front at Gorleston (away from Gt Yarmouth) there is a really nice beach cafe that is a welcome stop for refreshments.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to 00marks

Thank you, I'm south so would run towards Gt Yarmouth I think, I've explored but not far yet, I'll keep that cafe in mind 😁 the beach took me just a few minutes to get to 😁
