Woke up this morning fully expecting to have to self isolate, didn't think my PCR result would arrive until this afternoon. Instead my result came through just as I woke up. Negative, so I'm free! The sun was shining, temperature around 10C (not -10C like last Tuesday,) the river was calm so it was time to pull on the running shoes and head out.
What to wear? Thought about my short sleeved top, did I need a jumper? Compromised on a long sleeved running top and a peaked cap against the sunshine.
I've been spoiled by the sandy dry forest paths. The route along the sea defences was waterlogged and very muddy, really hard work. By the time we reached 5km I was really feeling the burn in my thighs and my feet were soaking. Give me crunchy snow underfoot any day Oh, and I was too hot 😂
Despite these grumbles it's fantastic to be back. I live in a beautiful part of the world and mornings like this are just amazing!
