I look forward to my Sunday afternoon runs with my boy. Today was a (🎄?) cracker.
So many high (and low) lights: we squelched through endless fields of sheep poo infused mud, ran laughing past a flock of hungry ewes as they made chase, mistaking us for the farmer come to feed them. We admired the gaudy Christmas lights as we ran through the village and stopped to swoon on the hill at an adorable baby alpaca who ran over to greet us. I lost count of how many streams we splashed through, mud now high up our legs. I agreed to a (totally futile) race across the final field in the rapidly fading light and panted up to the fence, trying to see where my boy had disappeared to. And there he was, standing knee deep in our still rain-swollen stream. "Come and clean your shoes" he called. So I stumbled over, tripped on a submerged stone and fell face down in the ice cold water 🙄. No need for a shower now! This running lark is fun 🤣🤣 🤣
