An unexpected evening run

I haven't run in the evening for quite sometime. Having left work early to accompany my husband to an afternoon hospital appointment, we got seen quickly and was home earlier than expected. The exercise class I normally attend on a Wednesday was fully booked so I was preparing for a snuggly evening in. And then my husband said it................

'Why not go for a run then?' I hummed and arrrd not really wanting to leave my warm house but figured it was a good idea. I quickly got changed and was out the door fairly fast for me (I think it was so I didn't change my mind).

Well blow me, it was one of the most enjoyable runs I have ever done. It was cold but I felt good and run without any thoughts of stopping or going the short way home. I did stop a couple of times but it was only to take a few pretty city pictures. I never thought I would enjoy running but I have discovered IT'S GREAT.

😍😍😍 👍🏽 Looks like a gorgeous place to run in the dark. Sometimes we need just those gentlest of nudges!

I definitely wouldn't have run without that nudge yesterday 😊

Absolutely gorgeous! Isn't it great when unplanned runs just turn out to be perfect runs? Well done 👍

I had very low expectations of the run because I hadn't psyched myself up for it. It just go to show that sometimes a quick decision can pay off.

Well done for getting out there. That looks just fabulous to run

Definitely prettier at night, although on a sunny 🌞 day it can still look good.

I can be a little jealous of the beautiful runs people do in the countryside or at the coast but the city can hold its own. Its just a different type of beauty.

Ah that’s a really good sign! I had one of those nearly a week ago, kept going back to it in my head. Makes it all worth it 😊😊😊.
