Thanks to everyone who encouraged me after my misery post last week. I have run three times this week, the same safe, flat 5k route each time. I still have piriformis syndrome but the physio said it was ok to run as long as I keep within my limits and concentrate on 'running from my hips, not my feet.' I've also lost 4lb and have been doing recommended pilates side series exercises for my glutes.
Thanks again guys. Onward and upward!

It's a joy after five months, if a slightly nervous one. It was even too painful to sit on the injury couch. I've spent hours stretched out on the living room floor!
I hope you're up and out again soon. X
Piriformis... autch. It's a bit like sciatica, no? The sciatic nerve runs under / through the piriformis. So if that muscle is tense, it can squeeze the sciatic nerve and give you pain. Hope it solves soon!
Thank you. Yes, that's about it - I tore mine. π I'm told it's healed but it need to train my other glute muscles to start firing again and to start working as a team. Who knew bums were so complicated? π€·ββοΈ
