I would have never thought it, but thank you to everyone for the weekend parkrun and (not)parkrun posts. It is hugely popular with over 100 posts per weekend. It is such a lovely way to kick off the weekend and get some exercise. I love reading the posts and hearing how everyone is doing. Well done to you all. I love our little community and it doesn’t matter if we are super fast, jog or walk, we are all doing 5K and loving it and that is all that matters.
I have had a very tough and stressful year with work. But looking forward to parkrun and our lovely little community every weekend has kept me going. I’ve changed jobs recently and I’m still busy, but in a positive good way. So I’ll have more time soon to get back involved with this amazing forum and all you lovely amazing people.
Happy running everyone.

No, thank YOU Damien! You kept us all going through lockdown with our (not) parkruns, and now we’re back to the real thing again. It’s an amazing start to the weekend. 🥰 You’re right, we’re a lovely big happy family of runners. You’ve kept us all that way!
Good luck with your new job, you’re an absolute ⭐️
What would Saturday be without parkrun Damien? , your posts inspire everyone to run, jog or walk, whether it's a official parkrun or a (not) parkrun and report to you on a Saturday, I agree with you that's its a great community, I do notice that you usually get more than a 100 posts each week, excellent 😊 👍I am a regular follower of your posts, I even contributed to it one year when you were on holiday, that was a privilege.
I hope you will be less stressed at work over the next few weeks and months and continue with the parkrun posts at the weekend 👍.
Thanks Al. You have all inspired me to keep running too. I will be calling on your services again in a couple of weeks Alan if you don’t mind covering again. I’ll be away on the 24th of September. I’d love if you could help that weekend.
I once again will cover you Damien on the weekend of the 24th September for the parkrun reports, I will help that weekend, that's a privilege for me, thank you. 👍✅
And thank you damienair! Before you started the weekly parkrun post, we were all individually submitting our parkrun posts. It’s so much better to have us all in one place comparing our different events.
I know how much you missed parkrun during the pandemic and your (not) parkrun post kept you and everyone else in this community going in those dark days. When I saw this pop up I thought you were going to say you were stepping down. Thank goodness that’s not the case!
Here’s a little pic of our VRB meet in Bristol- I bet little Oisin has changed since then. Look forward to seeing you in Southsea one day
Yes that course was character building but I got an East from the compass challenge and we adored visiting Bristol. And meeting you all was the icing on the cake.
Oisin has turned into a little teenage git! But I’m sure it’s just a phase. I’m not sure he will emerge out of his cocoon as a butterfly 🦋. A moth will do. 😂 pic taken earlier today. He is a big Manchester United fan. He was happy.
Wow, so grown up! I had 3 teens at the same time. 2 of them girls. 😱 I’ll say no more! But now they’re 30, 28 and 26 they’re all charming! You’ll be fine! 🥰
Oh Damien! Like parkrun our Saturday mornings wouldn’t be the same without you and your post! I look forward to it every Saturday, just like parkrun! You helped keep us together during lockdown and we’ve been able to continue, and grow, into the post-lockdown world - I think we are all extremely grateful to you. You are an incredible member of this wonderful community. Thank you 😍
Thank you!Because of this and the friendship here, I can post my Not park runs without feeling a lesser runner, simply because I run alone and slowly! X
That is so true. I joined this forum when first started on C25K not knowing what it was like or whether it would be something I would use. Blimey, 2 years later and I always feel like I have so many running buddies whom I share my joy, despair, laughter and where there is always so much knowledge and advice. This is a wonderful forum, and I would be really sad if it wasn't here!
Ah mate, thank you. You are an inspiration. I’m aiming for a return to sub 27 min parkruns in 2023. I’m going to plug away during the winter and get ready.
So many of us were able to keep running and stay motivated during lockdowns because of you. Just inspired . I’m sure parkrun only launched the official (not) parkrun because of you. Even then, we responded to both of you. Thank you 😊
Oh Damienair, all the thanks go to you, I might not join in very often, partly because of work and partly because it takes me so long to run 5k but I read your post every week and most of the replies and see so much encouragement for everyone
It’s lovely reading about how everyone else has got on. I especially love reading about the groups of friends meeting up and having post parkrun breakfasts and coffees together. That’s what it is all about.
It really is, and throughout lockdown we wondered if we’d do that again, looking back makes us realise how important it was to share here, now it’s just great to see people meeting up and running in groups.
Thank you Damien for your weekly input. You kept going with your weekly Parkrun catch up through thick and thin. We’ve all benefited from it. Hat’s off to you and i hope things continue to improve for you 👍
Big thank you to you damienair I love being part of a wider park run community via this forum. Thankful for you & all my other (not) park runners and park runners that post each week. ❤️🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️
I’m new to this forum and very new to park run but I look forward to reading all these comments on your post each week, thank you for hosting and good luck in your new job 👍🏻
damienair I haven't contributed here for a while for various reasons but I remember very well how inspirational and encouraging your weekly posts and all the replies were during lockdown and just after I'd graduated c25k. I did a fair few (not) parkruns but still not an actual parkrun, mainly because weekends are the only chance I get to do a longer run. I keep saying I should try parkrun, and maybe I will make use of my barcode sometime
Thank you very much. I have a couple of friends who incorporate parkrun into their long run by running to parkrun just before the start, doing parkrun and then running home again. I must start getting back to longer runs soon myself.
