Took myself out to the woods again this morning after my long weekend in Wales. It was 5 days and a fair amount of eating and drinking since my last run ππ΄π·, but I was feeling ok so decided to take it easy and just go. Well, I normally like to know where I'm going, but today I headed into the woods right at the start, thinking that if I did get lost, I had a few miles to sort myself out in. I turned down side trails, went down a deserted path into the trees, and, like a magic trick, popped out exactly where I wanted to be! That was 2.5 k done, then I found my usual out and back route along a mobility trail, and managed 6k in total. Even better, when walking back to my car, I bumped into a running buddy from my first c25k over a year ago, who told me about a 5 to 10 k group she's joining in September. Hmmm, food for thought! Happy running, people π
Back out there, didn't get lost!: Took myself... - Bridge to 10K
Back out there, didn't get lost!

A nice easy run for you today grumpyoldgirl, at least you didn't get lost, sounds like a good π run, 6K in total, very good. π π

How lovely GOG - and you considering joining a running group too! Bonus. πππββοΈ
When I did my c25k originally,I joined a group that gave all proceeds to the local hospice. It was a lovely, friendly and supportive group. Some of them moved on together, but I had to stop when I hurt my foot, so I lost touch. Also, the follow on lessons were at times I couldn't attend, and I wasn't ready for 10k. So it was lovely to see a familiar face, and I might well give that a go. I'll be checking with CP2 to see if she's interested, too π

Go for the 10k Grumps!, They easily balance out cafe stops, including the famous triple chocolate brownie. Good run today too. Back on song.π
Yay! You'll love 10k.. do it! π€

Shshshhhh!! You have to whisper! πΆπ

Lovely 6k run GoG...πyou can/will do the 10k plan, bite size increases, recovery runs, take your time. I found a there and back route was good for my long run, coming back seems easier!
That running group sounds friendly and fun!
πxx
Thanks Bluebird, that's good advice. I got to 8.5k on the magic plan, I was soo close! So I know I can get that far again, but I'm definitely going to do small increases. I was a bit shocked how much those colds I got affected my fitness. Maybe they were some badass flu type viruses, but my body feels strong again now. Still only whispering ten k though ππ€ (Glad it's not just me who likes a there and back, it's reassuring when you're pushing your distance somehow)
