Husband and I had been looking forward to a run this morning, but when he got up he announced it was very damp outside so were we still on?
Thought about it, checked the weather forecast. No prospect of improvement. Decided we may as well go for it.
Put NRC's Funky Fartlek on again, having done it last week and enjoyed it. Maybe it's only 20 minutes but Coach Bennett definitely tests you. It was only when I got home I realised it was still drizzling. Must've been working even harder than I thought!

Funky Fartlek sounds like my kind of thing - does it come with a funky playlist? 😎
We had fog here. “Little chance of precipitation, 12°C (feels like 12°)” - almost perfect, but they didn’t mention fog! Luckily I had my new hi-glo runner’s gilet to try out, so I went regardless. 🙂
I've given up looking at the NRC playlists, I never recognise any of the artistes. Just checked this one, the only song I know is 'Where's your head at' (Basement Jaxx), thanks to my sons' teenage years. As to the rest - Phat Suppli? Swedish House Mafia? Amyl and the Sniffers? Maybe I should have a listen, I might learn something 😂
Fab, drizzle is fine and the funky fartleks sound great
I've just sussed "Jeffing" and love it, but a "Fartlek" (especially a Funky one) remains a mystery. Please enlighten me. (Why is it that running terminology always sounds slightly rude.....?! 🤣)
Fartlek is from the Swedish for 'speed play'. It mixes fast running with slow running and you keep moving for the whole time. Have to confess I giggle and make jokes worthy of a 10 year old boy when I hear the word. The Funky Fartlek is apparently funky because Coach Bennett just tells you to start running at 5k, 10k or flat out pace but doesn't tell you what speed or how long you'll be running for until you actually do it.
