I love golden Autumn! Oh just look at those leaves! Everything from the temperature to the colours around, makes running so pleasurable.
Anyways...I completed week 5 of the plan and I am oh so happy!
Run1 was 30mins Interval Running - my very first ever Intervals ( apart from C25k walk/jogs ). I was both excited and anxious about them as I did not know how my body will react to the fast short sprints. I set up the Intervals on my Garmin watch as follows :
8x 30sec fast / 2min rest.
And I loved it! I had 5 minute warm up light jog, then 5 minutes cool down jog after intervals. The result was Distance 4.68k and burning thighs after. But I took a bath soak with an Epsom salt and seemed to be ok next day, no aches.
Run2 40mins Easy - I ran the same hilly route as last week, distance 5.55k
Run3 was today - 4 miles! I chose to run familiar route in a local park, at first. However I felt adventurous and I took a turn over to the old golf course, which is not in use anymore, so felt it was safe to do so.... oh dear what a mess! The grass field was disastrous! Not been maintained for over a year I guess, so I had to raise my legs really high and the running suddenly became challenging. Adding to that - I got lost! I did not know which way to go to get to the public pathway close to the train tracks, so luckily I had my phone with me and checked my whereabouts on a google map π€¦ββοΈ
Well...altogether distance this week comes down to 16.66k - quite a devilish number, explaines a lot about me getting lost.
Ready for the Week 6, which is introducing another new experience - Tempo run! Can't wait!
Thank you for reading and stay safe out there!
Happy Running x
