Frantic music

In order to work towards a more consistent cadence I downloaded an “album” of 150 bpm “music” from iTunes.

I used it this morning. It was that sort of frantic techno stuff they play in gyms for the lycra lovers but it did take two minutes off my previous time.

Next time something more relaxing perhaps and arrive a bit later.

I have never run to a beat but I hear you can use a metronome app to up your cadence.

Alternatively, what I think you’re looking for is popularly known as “Trance”. 😆

I think another term is “Brain Dead” 😶‍🌫️

Haha! No! Sounds terrible! Trance music though, that's more like it. I sometimes run to heavy metal! 😂

Whatever the music HF, it seems to have worked! I enjoy the odd tune with a beat but not sure I could manage a whole run - well done you!

Last week I ran to the Trout Quintet. It had nothing to do with the pace but matched the countryside perfectly. 😊

That must have been interesting! I sometimes get Rodrigo y Gabriela coming through my headphones - equally unrunnable to! Springsteen and Chris Rea have much more beat !

Trout Quintet by Schubert, nice to run to, how about Schubert Deutsche Messe, the 5th movement is very popular.

If you’ve got Spotify, they have a playlist called Born to Run 150bpm which is mostly 1980s tracks such as George Michael, Queen, Duran Duran, David Bowie etc. There’s also one called Retro Running!

It does feel good to run in synch to music doesn’t it?

I compiled my own playlists at various different bpm rates. Mind you, some of the tracks I tried would have set me up for a world record attempt (or, much more likely, blowing a fuse)!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've ended up (at least for now) with Moby's 'Long Ambients' (they're free from his website) which have no beat at all leaving me to either go with how I'm feeling or use a metronome app. I must say though using a metronome has had mixed results.

I used to have 35 minutes of AC/DC to get me to run faster and get Parkrun over 😊
