Shook off my early morning sloth when the weather changed around midday. The sun was shining but I was a bit peckish and didn't want to delay lunch too much. 3km didn't seem enough and 5km was too much so settled on 4km.
Turned on my NRC as I'd downloaded this run a while ago and...all my downloaded runs have disappeared!! I wanted to do 4km with Coach Bennett but it's no longer on the list of runs. Plus a lot of the runs seem to be in German. Has the algorithm decided I live somewhere else?
Has anyone else had this issue or might it just be because I've been travelling?
Anyway, I found a 4km with Coach Shalane which wasn't quite the same. Husband has got the running bug now so joined me and inevitably we set off too fast.
By 3 km I had to stop for a moment, I was feeling the strain. I definitely didn't drink enough water yesterday or today, the headwind was fierce and the path had lots of muddy bits to avoid.
At 3.5 km my ankle ligament gave a little twinge, worrying. Slowed down again. Husband overtook me on the last hundred metres while I caught my breath. He kindly follows me though I know he could go much faster. In the last 50 m or so pride kicked in, I sped up and overtook him.
Despite my stops it was pretty fast for me, average 8'04" mins/km and negative splits.
By the end of the run I quite liked Coach Shalane after all but I still want to know what's happened to all the runs I planned to do. Can anyone in the Coach Bennett fan club enlighten me?
